I asked this on another Aladdin Video game thread and I'll ask it again here: where can I download these songs. The track starting at 6:00 was always my favorite!
The SNES version's music destroys this version, but then again, the SNES soundchip is worlds better, when the Genesis/MegaDrive sound chip is barely better than the Turbo16 (PC Engine)
Having said that, I'm use to the Genesis having flat, tinny, 1980's arcade-like sound, but it still doesn't take away the fact that this version of Aladdin is on par with or perhaps better than the SNES version, while still being different!
The music on the PC version is similar, but much better-sounding IMHO. Look up YT user 'Myrclclin' who has the DOS tunes - you'll probably agree with me.
yeah but that version had that crappy life bar that blocked like 1/3rd of the screen..... the later Windows release corrected it, but it was still a crapness that tainted the PC Dos version. Why they didn't implement the same display as the Genesis version and instead blocked the top third of the screen, is beyond me.
I was terrible at this game. I got to see the Cave of Wonders though, because my stepsister played it for a whole day once, but then she got mad over something and hit it, knocking the cartridge out and ruining her day's work.
My favorite part was watching Genie's hands become a question mark because Aladdin hit a boulder and we didn't even notice. We were just flying around when all of a sudden Aladdin was gone XD
The music for the game seems catchier then the actual movie songs.
Superbe video !!!
Damn, lookin back, level design in those old Disney games were craaaazy. I hated the elephant grave yard in Lion King because it was wild. The levels were really puzzle in their own, with the damn good animation and color and all.
Man when i was 4, this was the 2nd tv game in my whole life. Sonic2 were my first when i got it 5 minutes before Aladdin. what a memory
I was good at it, did know some hidden road and stuff. But I was afraid of the lava stage when rolling rock rolled at aladdin ,plus stage music. Due to that, it awakened the klaustrophobia inside of me.
I like hearing the music from the movie in this form, like Under the Sea in Kingdom Hearts 1, since the singing is the reason I never got into Disney movies as a kid, but the music was well made, of course.
Wow! Cool! Thanks for the memories! I love this channel! Keep up the great work. These graphics actually still stand up! Someone should do a DS, PSP & XBL version of this. Right before this game we did Global Gladiators & Cool Spot. After we finished working on this game, the same team went on to do Earthworm Jim 1 & 2. Hope to be seeing EWJ on the channel!
Heya again Tommy, always fun to see you pop in. I've actually done vids for both EWJ and EWJ2, although they feature the SNES version, which in hindsight maybe wasn't the best choice. To make up for it, I made another video for the Sega CD SE version, which is fantastic. You worked on those arrangements as well, right?
Anyway, glad to see you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I gotta ask though, do you have any personal favorites among your works? Take care Tommy, keep on rockin'.
I think tommy has a crush on you lol...no but seriously i'd find it an honour to have him comment on my page he worked on some pretty great games...and some pretty shitty ones to...robocop vs terminator..lol...redeemed with tony hawk pro skater and this...plus to those that don't know this he's related to liv tyler apparently..crazy!!
So some lame douchebag that copies AVGN's name and puts "subscribe to my backup channel plz" in his bio is telling me to get real? Get the fuck out of here. Your ass is blocked.
I pressed the "dislike" button by mistake...I´ll guess my life is over now...
