Thankyou for this, i never normally use dslr for filming so i have never had this problem before, and i couldn't handle the endless render! You have saved me a lot of time.

you should uncheck interlaced scaling so that you keep the footage progressive and you don't end up with lines. The Canon DSLR frame rate is 23.976. I always enter that in the field, never tried leaving it blank.
