wake up ; this is a con ....always check the (home recording)tag. There is a con going on via YouTube to add "fake history" to the Elvis catalogue. This is not Elvis. Multiple identities are being used.....be careful but still great impressions...
This performance was recorded way, way, way before Elvis ever met Linda Thompson. This performance is from Germany in 1959. It's only available on CD #4 of the four disc box set "A Golden Celebration" from 1998, I own that box set. That's a very decent homerecording of this very sensational song. Thank you so very much for making and sharing that very magical video, 5 Stars.
Great! Okay here is where my "uncoolness" comes in. I have a 10 year old daughter who asked me several weeks ago if I had ever heard Soldier Boy. I replied yeah of course when she said she loved the song I said I had it at home, then I played it...After her laughing for 15 minutes I find out there is a Soulja Boy! LOL!
@melissatarv You're not uncool, the kind of music your daughter listens to is. I grew up in the 1980s and I hated rap then and I hate it now. Rockabilly should've survived and rap should've faded away.
@tcbtheking01 The current sorry state of popular music wont go on forever. The longer ELVIS' popularity lasts the better the chances he will top the charts again like he did in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. And there's nothing Billboard Magazine, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber or Britney Spears can do about it.
@donn409 Agreed, Bieber shouldnt even be on the list though. Thousands of talented people never get a shot like he was handed, and he has NO talent. Elvis Is and always will be the king!
Elvis recorded this version in 1959. Linda Thompson met Elvis for the first time in 1973...

She shouldn't of even been allowed back in Graceland,
and Boo-Hoo for her "Rough Life" with Elvis!
What about her two Loser Husbands Bruce Jenner
and David Foster, who, had the nerve to rip-on Elvis
considering all Foster's Songs suck! What about Audio
of Linda runnng-up Elvis' Credit Cards AFTER they
broke-up. Give me a break!

@CrocodileHoges Linda is like all the rest that continues getting headlines because of her association with Elvis. Cybil Sheppard is another one.

@haldenver Elvis didn't need anyone "faking history" to add to his legend.
