@KC8YOQ lol dont be scared. Its in England, looks to be an old diesel switcher/shunter. A couple of chaps seem to have come together to try and restore her/getting back to ship-shape. This is the first, possibly biggest step, just getting her to breathe again!
It's the well known British Locomotion Gene, putting personal safety behind the urge to get somewhere far away fast using fire. First evidenced in one Richard Trevithic, the virus quickly spread to the Stevensons, then Henry Ford, and finally the Germans got it in the form of Mrs Benz and Werner von Braun. Smoke is a neccessary product of these investigations, unless you're a russian rocketeer. Smart arsed buggers. Stop all this smokey whinging you perfumed nancy daffodil pressers.
@MightyJustas You really should get to an opticians as you have obviously missed the monumental fact that the 3 VERY large up and over doors on the rear of the depot are in fact open (its dark outside),P.S one of the idiots is in fact me !! (the guy on the right), as for working conditions,we do this for free at weekends so who are we going to sue for these terrible conditions ! ! !,touch of sarcasm there but I doubt youll get it
@TheSquerl101 and I'll bet you are a non smoking, alcohol free, non risk taking, speed limit obeying, namby liberal ? get a life and get real and also get to spec savers as you may have missed the fact that the 3 rather large up and over depot doors are wide open ?
No it wasnt, they have never had Ruston engines in,they have only ever had Paxman Ventura's in or my mates one has a Rolls Royce DV8 in it but that was a conversion
Hey Stavy you should come back up mate,we've got a good little diesel crew up there now, still got a few dickheads mind but you grow to ignore them, lol
Yes, unfortunately they are everywhere in life! :),I defo will next time in the area. I wouldn't mind talking a look at bolton abbey it looks great compared to how I last remember it....
Not long after this , I was behind this Class 14 on the Diesel Gala at the loop when the engine stopped , it took a couple attempts to get started again.
She suffers from a tempremental low oil pressure shut down switch so after a bit of a thrash she sometimes shuts down when the oil gets hot, will be fixed very soon along with a much needed oil change
I see from many observers that many folks need there eyes testing, the doors are grey with small windows and unless I am blind those three doors are open and its dark outside.........
lol. its right wat u sed startin diesels in the sheds is ok i fired up a 31 and a 37 in our sheds befor and nothin hapend well exept the fire alarms went off.
To all the numpties wafflin on about fumes, yes they are bad for you if for instance you where doing this kind of thing day in day out for 20 odd years,as this was a one off on one day only for a maximum of an hour then i think we may be ok !!!!!!!!
its a carbon monoxide thing, it doesnt take 20 years to kill you. this is why you arents upposed to run generators, lawnmowers, snowblowers etc in your garage or house. Doersnt takea much to kill you
its diesel!,.. it contains only a very low level of co compared to gasoline engines exhaust,.. why do you think so there are so few suicide death attempts by people using a hose hooked to a diesel car?,..becasue with diesel, you choke before you pass out!,..where as with gas,. you pass out before anything else,.trust me i know
They must use a different kind of diesel in trains than lorries, because the lorries that pull into my warehouse fucking stink, it makes me feel sick.
