I bet his name is squeaky from when he was a baby. he is pretty pugnacious and obstreperous- and that is , in my opinion, a much more pronounced trait amongst feral pigeons than homing pigeons- although some of them are pretty rowdy also.
They make very entertaining pets. With all this aggression- I bet he is an affectionate companion.
I will forward your questions to Bruce, the owner. I do know that Bruce rescues animals...many of which are pigeons that are hurt. They had one years ago that was incredible!! This one, Squeaky, has the run of the house and bosses their cats around. Squeaky always wants to play (loves playing Karate) and bugged my kids constantly for attention. My 5 year old told me that Squeaky wouldn't leave her alone so she was "hiding" from him. I couldn't believe she was talking about a pigeon!

Squeaky is not a trained pigeon. We adopted him as a baby bird. He loves to fight (play) with me and he's really lovey-dovey with my wife.
Squeaky has our 4 cats totally bullied and has the run (flight) of the house.
The Romans and Greeks kept them as pets.
They're intellegent and loyal (they mate for life). In the wild they live only 3 years on average. In captivity the can live 18 years.
They are immune to the Avian flu virus.
