  • Hello mate, sounds like the economy has really hit the skids in Cali, I hope things pick up for you soon. Thats a nice Mgb roadster you have there, I'm in the Uk and trade cars part time also, I detail cars full time and use my skills to hike up the value of the cars I'm selling. Business is OK for now, I've been really careful about which cars to buy to sell on, they have to be the wanted models, i.e practical, reliable and efficient, small hatchback cars are very popular over here.

  • had to play kurt russel haha i thought what does snake plissken have to do with cars and then i remembered "used cars" great movie ,,wohoo take the money and run,,,,,,,

  • It took over an hour to sell this car and I actually had to "hard sell" it, like Rudy in Used Cars. I've seen the same cars for sale for months on craigslist here and have friends that flip cars also. Nothing is selling right now. People are having yard sales even, with no traffic here. All signs of a frozen economy and unemployment.

  • thanks fo report, wow, as you said 2 gold coins for a car...and in that vid, people wouldnt buy that gold coin(on the beach)

Forclosures, all over, thanks for "as it is" info.

    Keep up good reports.

  • ~I think you're gonna make more having the gold. Depending how much you buy and how quick you buy it, you may go even in just a few months =p

  • It's pretty surreal that the car was worth TWO gold coins now, and a pocket full of silver.

  • hmm..video sticks at 3:15..for me, anyway.

  • Saweet Jeff =)

now... go get an ounce of gold ;) hehe, right now, 6:17 am pst, its 1132 an ounce, thats over 5dollars down from yesterday :)

    stay safe, =)

  • As long as you have your BOV's...that's what you're gonna need. Are you gonna stay in Cali, or are you gonna get out of dodge? I'm thinking of the longer-term. Any ideas of every going back to Canada?

  • I dunno. All I know is there's two more gun shows this month and I'm still looking for a Scout M6.

  • You mean for a Pack or BOV gun? I got an AR-7 for my pack. I wish I had the money to buy a Papoose, but I don't right now. Rossi makes some with changeable barrels on them. They might be an option. A lot of them are fairly cheap...$350 and under. I hope you find what you're lookin' for.

  • sweet MG, but its no bov.

  • a guy i know would have loved this car jeff

i hear they can be tough to maintain ..

  • The trick is finding one that isn't butchered. Some mechanics do more harm than good to them...

  • Five Stars!

  • That bites Jeff. Nice little MG too.

  • Nice car. I don't see wire wheels at all anymore.

I'm no fan of British cars, but sorry you lost money on the deal.

  • Factoring in 100-odd cars, it all good.

    Time to move on.

  • Hi Jeff

I was dealing in used cars here in Az too until i got busted for dealing without a motor vehicle dealer license

Had to pay a $1000,00 fine and i also got a cease & dissist order

  • i like british sports cars..i have a 1960 triumph TR-3 ive owned for 20 years....i buy and sell cars too... mostly 1930s streetrods....i build them...

  • Jeff, for anyone heading towards foreclosures on their property have them look into MERS .

Check out ChristineESpringer she will help with this process to win over the Banks!

  • Better buy gold puts and not calls. Gold is going down once it hits 1150... wait and see...

  • I have to follow my friend's predictions.

    Gold $2500.00 in our future..

  • no....buy physical gold only........

  • You can buy nuggets n such off of ebay, if one can not afford an ounce at a time. there are 31.1 grams in a troy ounce of gold. to find out how much a gram is worth, just do the mat. A gram is usually around 33dollars lately. And dont bid over that amount for it on ebay. And buy from a gold prospector that has been doing it for a while and has great feedback ;)

  • yes.....i have bough from ebay....and when you use paypal there is no risk if you do not receive it....

  • Very nice car. Too bad you couldn't get what it was worth.

I saw this mess coming for a while - managed to convince my Mom to leave LA in 2007 - my sisters and I converged on her place in Bradbury in fall of that year, packed her up and moved her up with me. She and Dad bought the place in 1967 for $26,000.

  • Places in her part of the neighborhood had been selling for 700k and up until the market came to a standstill. We cut the 'market' price to $375k, sold as-is, fixer-upper. Closed within 60 days of listing. I didn't want to take any chances of it getting hung up in the deteriorating market. Mom was a little concerned at first, but saw the light in about three months.

  • damn that should have sold for atleast 3-4 grand

  • With my labor time...I actually lost $8-900

  • man that sucks, atleast you can enjoy the sunshine, in ontario its getting cold

  • Wow, nice MG. Very good shape. Hate to see you trade it for Gold, but like you said you gotta do what you gotta do.
