  • It helps to stay off the internet.

  • @millvalleyrn - This is true but a lot of people use the internet for their jobs and research, etc. Addicts need to learn how to manage their addiction so they can live a normal life and still utilize technology and not shun it. Addicts need to learn how to put a plan in place when they feel triggered.

  • If you don't want help with porn, then find, leave, don't start an argument that porn is good or something like that.

  • @Entropy56 In our opinion viewing pornography is not healthy and should be avoided.

  • What is porn?

  • @Entropy56 @Entropy56 - I am assuming this is in gist, but if not:

    Definition of Porn

1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement

2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement

3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction

  • @innergold1000 Sounds like Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition to me...

  • @Entropy56 true, it is a huge trigger and there are many that feel it is porn, some call it soft porn. Many addicts started out by viewing this, which led to greater curiosity and addiction.

  • @Entropy56 we tried sending you a message in response to several of the comments you made but your settings did not permit it. Due to the content of some of the comments, we did not approve them. They would be triggers for those struggling w/ sexual addiction issues. Our goal is to provide a message of hope and healing to those seeking help. We are not here to try to convince someone porn is bad. There are several channels that successfully do this.

We're here for those seeking the help.

  • @innergold1000 So, are you saying that my comments were bad, or are you saying that the YouTube links I posted were bad? Because according to "community standards" it is acceptable to use the F-word here and show sexual content, etc. Apparently you disagree with YouTube's definition of "community standards" , which proves my point.

BTW, I don't take personal messages; I didn't join YouTube to take private messages but to discuss things in a public forum in the open. I have nothing to hide.

  • @Entropy56 we typed up a lengthy email but it was to long to post here. Again, our focus is to help people who are seeking and wanting help. Just because YouTube says something is, OK, does not mean we agree. Our videos are to provide encouragement and support. We have a company policy that anything that may be a trigger to one of our clients or someone seeking help. We will remove it, block it or trash it.

We have nothing to hide but this avenue of communication is very limiting.

  • @innergold1000 I added you as a friend; send your lengthy message. I doubt you want to argue the point because many people seem to agree with you that they have a porn addiction. You don't need me to take up your time. However, I have a unique perspective on the subject that I haven't even begun to describe here. I know of no one who has a story like mine.

It comes down to the fact that NOT being able to view porn literally ruined my life.

And I dare say that porn phobia has ruined marriages

  • I think as long as it doesn't interfere with the majority of your daily life. For example if you can walk out of your house to go to school or work and be able to function all the day without porn then your addiction isnt that bad.

Why would anybody want to stop looking at porn once and for all? besides those who think that it will send them to hell?

  • @joemchang Whenever the words "Addiction isn't that bad" are said or written red flags should start going off in realizing just how bad something truly has or can become.

  • I have read that 95% of brain (when viewed by an mri) "lights up" the same as when it gets a shot of heroin.

I am wondering, does the brain get a flood of endorphins during orgasm?

If so , would this not play a part in porn addiction ?

  • Yea if i dont go on for about a month i forget about it. But once i start again the feeling is too good, I'm not sure how to stop though it has become a habit to me it seems like. I've been doing it on again and off again for about 4 years

  • We help people overcome this habit of watching pornography by retraining the brain. Your brain has been trained to watch pornography when you are bored, lonely, angry, stressed or tired.

  • We teach you the exercises that will strengthen your logical thinking portion of the brain called the pre-frontal cortex. Learn more about the InnerGold system that is helping people world-wide.

  • "Your comment is a common response as well as a very good definition of addiction...wanting to stop something but returning to the behavior despite the consequences. Pornography effects the brain similar to other addictive substances and creates similar highs along with withdrawals. There are ways to gain sobriety in this addiciton and that is the purpose of Innergold."

  • It's really hard to stop, I've been addicted ever since I knew it existed! Even though I say to myself "No it's too much" my body just goes on the websites automatically.
