I was never close to my daddy he denyed me when i was 12 and now he still has nothing to do with me and i am 17 and he is an alcoholic and all i do is cry at night thinking why im i so different from my brother. why dont you want me? Am i not good enough.....
When i last talked to my father i asked him when he will come back from the phillipense and he said june but june came and i cant see him no more but hes always there
I'm so sorry that you lost your Dad. It's so good that you love him so much. Your heart will heal. Let God love you and live for the memory of your Dad. One day the sun will shine again.
WMG doesn't realize that hearing music on Yt often sells that song and some of us look for it to buy!! Pity. And I suppose this instrumental doesn't belong to anyone so is not copyrighted? Sad thing is the whole video of Paul Peterson is up on several accounts and you can see and hear the whole thing.
I like your video. Can you find another tune to replace this one? It's a bit sad.
@LadyShesu You can watch the original version of the song with Paul Peterson's 'My Dad' at M E T A C A F E . C O M by searching for 'A father's day tribute'.
this is so beautiful. These pictures are examples of what it means to be REAL fathers and not the ones that dip out of their child's life once they are born.
Daddy. Oh what a man; oh what a fine example of what is good, honest, true, and quiet love (that deep, deep kind that is an abyss). Thank you for giving me life, for your love, for your standards, for loving Mummy so much, and for your sense of humor. I miss you more than I can ever tell. You knew I would.
My dad is truly my hero... when i was a baby i had a real bad lung infection and he followed the ambulance throught traffic makin every move it made, the ambulance driver told my mother who was in the ambulance with me that if he didn slow down he could get in a wreck, she then told him thats my babys dad he wont lose this ambulance. apon arriving at the hospital the ambulance driver handed my dad his keys and said you can have my job any day... i love you dad your my hero
This is a beautiful clip! I hope u all know what a blessing a father TRULY is. I just lost my dad a couple of weeks ago. I placed a post in the song "My dad" by Paul Peterson. Give back the love that parents give to u. Life is short and one NEVER knows. R.I.P. dad*tears*. We have ALWAYS loved you:) -Roy, Jr
Dad i love you always dont ever forget that! My dad said when i was first born an they put me in his arms he said he never cried so hard for a lil girl in his life because i was the most beautiful little girl hes ever seen
When I selected this music, I was in a very bad mood. YouTube had just notified me that WMG flagged my video for copywrite violation for the song My Dad by Paul Peterson. Even though the whole video was created specifically for that song, I had to go to YouTube's Audio Swap function and try to find new music. What you hear is what I found in Audio Swap, but I do not remember the title or the music group. Sorry.
The death of a loved one can be excruciatingly heartbreaking. I felt crushed when my parents died. There's a big hurt...an emptiness. But, please remember, God is with you. He sees the big picture. This is where trust steps into the picture. Stay close to Him in prayer. Tell Him everything that's hurting you. Let everything out. When you're finished, please remember to tell Him the many ways you need Him in your life.
plz help me, i hope im getting through because i feel like a whole is in my heart and as i write this right now this second i feel like my dead step dad is here with me with a hand on my shoulder, it hurts, not like a headache hurt but like heartache i still cant get over it and i feel like im in a dream, wat should i do, plz help me, plz, anyone out there
605222-I had the same feeling after my greatgrandpa died. It could be that your step-dad is your guardian angel now. I know my ggpa is for me. The hole in your heart may never fully go away, but it will start to heal over time. If it gets too much to bear, talk to someone about it. Your mom may be feeling much the same way. Talk to her and maybe you can help each other through this difficult time.
May God give peace to your heart and rest to your soul. God will always be there no matter what.
Blazor-I know losing your mom is tough, but you'll get through it. We aren't always supposed to understand why he does things, but there is always a reason for his actions. Trust that God had a reason for it, and if it still bothers you, pray and ask him why he took her. I don't know much of your story, but I pray that God will give you peace in your heart and that you will come to trust Him fully someday.
What a beautiful, beautiful video/audio clip! Thank you for posting this. A dad's love is vital and special. It's different than a mom's kind of loving, but it's complementary with it.
When I was 12 (1956) and home sick with the chicken pox, my dad surprised me and came home during his lunch break to check in on me. I remember being so touched, I wanted to cry. He held me for 15 minutes and read two chapters of "Pride & Prejudice" to me. I will never forget how special I felt that day.
My mom and dad divoced when I was 5. At 8 I listened to this old 45 on my record player(the record was my mom's)It made me feel closer to him. He now has cancer for the 3rd time and lives far away. I am going to visit him in 3weeks!
You made a grown man cry. Love the song and the video you made. It made me think of my late father and my son who I don't always get along with. I'll try harder....thanks.
My dad died in October, 08, I really miss him. He taught me how to change the oil in my car, the tire, cook, how to raise and kill chickens for supper, how to start a camp fire and fish. You see he knew there was going to be another depression. Times weren't always good, but we had some good times. I only wish he'd taught me to dance so I can remember his arms around me.
My dad passed away on October 23, 1962. I was quite young, and this show aired several days later. The song holds a very special place in my heart and always will.
I'm in tears as I write this...Someone posted the clip from the show in 1962 where this aired...Everyone was breaking down...Call it schmaltzy, but it is magnficent
I remember when my dad was alive and Pete McKay would play this song on Father's Day on the radio, it would always bring a tear to my eye, and it still does years later.
We lived under the same roof and I never knew him. I can never hear this song without tears streaming down my face. So I did something for my father when he died....I sang at his funeral.....I miss you dad.....I will see you again.....someday....wait for me.
I can relate...I lived under the same roof with my dad who was a raging alcoholic...I never new him either. He drove a truck and when he was home he was always in a bar drinking.
A simply great tribute to the person I most respected in my life, I lost Dad when I was 33My wife (who never knew him) collected much memorabilia from my Dad's high school days (a top track ahlete) to his medals he earned serving in the US Navy. I still miss him very much today and I'm 61. Thanks for the posting!

I had the original on 45 and after Dad passed away I had a hard time playing it.
