In the extremely obvious case of getting a job, the pros of getting more money for hobbies, house etc outweigh the cons of not enjoying the job. Whether that's the case for your or not doesn't matter. The fact is that 'like it's his job' is a catchphrase that doesn't work because if it was his job, the assumption is that he probably wouldn't enjoy it that much.
