It's true, there is no other singer to replace Ritchie's version - no one can sing it like he did but Bobby Vee's version is good - I actually do like it and his vocals covering it are probably better then most.
Nobody can replace Ritchie, and that said, Bobby Vee is one the best of his time, and I think this is a charming rendition with his understated feeling.
Nothing> Vocally inexpressive, and plagiarristic, with nothing of his own.

This was a pretty good album, I used to have it. Think he did summertime blues on it too but I may be wrong.
