it could be alot of different things from the material to the game engine or your computer, you are using the latest blender correct? make sure the GLSL is turned on for the normal/bump map works also make sure you start with default material. I will be posting a new version of this soon.
yeah i think im using it correctly but something must be wrong. everything is ticked in the glsl settings. i can use glsl with materials but not with textures. i followed a few more tuts but it didnt worked. when i give a texture to an object, it gets invisible. and shadows dont work, too
in that case you need to flip the normal (edit mode->select all->w->flip normals) should help the shadows might be if you are not using a buffered spotlamp, send me a pic or a video or the file.
the quality sucks...I'm sorry to say it. I lost you in the beginning already when you started on all the material stuff. I can't see where you are clicking at all...off to find another tut...>_>
what is a bumb map? lol

just a note, you can also use the subdivide fractal for a kinda of rugged effect. that works just as well as a bump map.

Technically, it is a normal map (newer, more accurate, etc), but otherwise a helpful tutorial with good music.
