at the time the game was played it was thought that after 11....Qxg5 12.Qf3 white has serious initiative, today this line has been resolved to a draw by strong gms with the help of strong engines of course
@thamade The match ends cause Anand Resigned (black) , although there's no indication in the video of that happening , if you watch the board on the right side at move number 38 after white moves the Rook , there's no response on black , so you can understand that he resigned …. .. And offcourse white wins cause has an amazing advantage on black , Black's knight cannot move to any space , the king cant move on to attack , and the rook only has the C file to move
This was a classical game by Kasparov but on the other hand, in my opinion, Anand shouldn't have captured pawn on e4 in the begining of the game. instead, he could have develop his position more stronger.
I am not grandmaster neither a national master, but been playing with computers and friends for the last 24 years. With that experience, I think the player who play defensively are more stronger than attackers because attackers always make mistakes after close examin you can find loop holes.
@angelastt dude, whether it was Plan A or Plan B, but result was not in the favour of Anand. he should play more sound rather accepting pieces from opponents.
w8, so who won?

why didnt black took on knight g5 2:00
davidaloca956 2 months ago
@davidaloca956 because Nde4, Queen must retreat and Knight take on c5 which is a better placed knight

@mautand They don't "always" make mistakes, it's just that many aggressive players tent to neglect their defence.

@mautand hey brad jsut analyze anand's brain move in the chess about ten move advance and he has plan B on that
