Clint's description of "why didn't I just go over to Nat King Cole and stick out my hand" was exactly how I met him. He was having a beer with some buddies and I just went over and stuck out my hand. We shook hands, said a few words and I left so he could drink with his friends. The whole incident lasted about 5 seconds, yet it was one of the coolest moments of my life.

The story about Nat King Cole, and how he couldn't work up the nerve to go talk to him at that party, is so humanizing. It's easy to forget that even someone like Clint Eastwood can be intimidated by someone else.

it goes to show how dehumanizing words like "legend" are; I never thought about it, but maybe it's not such a compliment to call anyone that.

Clint tells a hilarious story about the time he got into an elevator, and Mohammed Ali got in. It's been years since I heard the story, but Clint was nervous cause he didn't know him and Ali told him to give him that famous GLARE. He just thought it was so cool. Obviously, he was an Eastwood fan too!
