"You make that record and put it on the market. It belongs to someone else after that. It belongs to the public, and same with a movie." damn straight. copyright laws are so aged. for example, you can't find guitar tabs to some artists music on the internet because it's copyirighted intellectual property, or something along those lines. Let people go to the movies if they want, or let them buy dvd's, but also let them copy it. No one suffers. They'd just borrow the DVD from a friend otherwise.
You don't have to explain the movie to me, buddy. He is a bad ass in the end, not the whole movie. My point is that Clint Eastwood is great and can be a volatile actor, too.Not just a bad ass typecast.
Clint's description of "why didn't I just go over to Nat King Cole and stick out my hand" was exactly how I met him. He was having a beer with some buddies and I just went over and stuck out my hand. We shook hands, said a few words and I left so he could drink with his friends. The whole incident lasted about 5 seconds, yet it was one of the coolest moments of my life.
I was half asleep when I saw this and read it as "Clint Eastwood interviewed by Jim Carrey" I am such a fool, but I have to admit, that would be good :D
if you're projecting the right thoughts, then people will reach forward to you, and if you're NOT then their going to dial out...
THAT IS HANDS DOWN SOME OF THE GREATEST ADVICE EVER GIVEN BY A MAJOR STAR. Clint is such an intelligent actor and graciously drops this gem of widsom out there in her usual low key understated way. Most actors are so busy going through the physical gymnastics of performance that they fail to focus on the internal dialogue that brings reality to the performance.
The story about Nat King Cole, and how he couldn't work up the nerve to go talk to him at that party, is so humanizing. It's easy to forget that even someone like Clint Eastwood can be intimidated by someone else.
it goes to show how dehumanizing words like "legend" are; I never thought about it, but maybe it's not such a compliment to call anyone that.
Clint tells a hilarious story about the time he got into an elevator, and Mohammed Ali got in. It's been years since I heard the story, but Clint was nervous cause he didn't know him and Ali told him to give him that famous GLARE. He just thought it was so cool. Obviously, he was an Eastwood fan too!
@octavintolerance6 he is PURE BAD ASS in that movie, especially the last scene when he says, "Men, women, children... I've killed just about anything that has walked or crawled this earth at one time or another". The great thing about that movie is it's about a bad ass PAST his prime - and the struggles he has to get his moxy back.
Just watched Gran Torino. His best movie by far. Eastwood is a living legend and I think I speak for most 30 to 50 year old men when I say, "I want to grow up to be just like Clint".
Excellent. xDD

... solid interview by Carter, though. The first and final questions produced revealing answers.

Eastwood ran intellectual circles around the guy on that Oscar/number-one record question.
