Of course the chant is going to sound dumb and stupid to opposing fans, but isn't that true for most school chants? Since when do opposing fans like "O-H-I-O", "Roll Tide" or "Go Blue" to name a few? Very rarely. Chants are suppose to unite one team and annoy the hell out of the opposing team.
just got back from my first visit to Ross-Ade, Purdue has terrific and very pleasant fans and showed great sportsmanship, even in defeat. I thought the Boiler-up chant was catchy and the world's largest drum sounds cool in the stadium.
True, the stadium is small, but it was comfortable and well-designed. Go Sparty and good luck at Indiana, Boilers!
For those who are annoyed by the horn: haven't you thought that's probably half the reason that we put it in? I'm sorry that we're not there to cater to opposing teams wishes....
im a huge PSU fan im 17 my whole family are penn state fans except for my little brother who is 12. he is a purdue fan and a diehard one at that. he has been a purdue fan since he was 7 and always does that stupid chant when they are playing. just kidding the chant is cool. not better then WE ARE PENN STATE though.
do guys remember back in the day like around 2000 when the boilermaker extra special was the main horn and it was strong? i love purdue sports but that horn on the score board is kinda weak. and the one the band uses is kinda weak. and if that horn bothers u poisonous nuts maybe they should blow it after every play?

The best in the Big Ten? PLEASE!!!! That would be by far either the O-H-I-O chant or the We Are Penn State cheer. And I was there when the boys from Columbus came into town and seein Ross-Ade filled with so much scarlet and gray and hearin the O-H-I-O chant drown out the crowd was pretty amazing.

Its hard to say thats one of the better chants in the conference when Illinois rarely plays a meaningful football game. And a Buckeye is a nut that is grown on trees native to the state of Ohio

I don't dislike Purdue or anything, but watching the OSU/Purdue game on TV hearing that damn horn over and over got annoying. That was watching it on TV, haha.. I can only imagine it in person.

Purdue has some of the worst "traditions" on the Big Ten.
Not to mention I thought I was in a high school stadium when I saw a game there.
On the flip side, their fans aren't half bad.

It seemed smaller. I guess that's because Michigan Stadium will soon hold 110,001; I'm used to that.
Purdue does have some of the better fans in the Big Ten, though.
