Hey, we've all got our opinions, and that's cool Tell you what, though. I've seen The Rolling Stones ENTIRE CAREER (Yeah, I've been aroudn that long!). Mick Taylor was great and all, true. However, after nearly 50 years, I can tell you that KEITH RICHARDS was/is the heart and soul of The Rolling Stones.
I saw him live in 1979 with The New Barbarians. Mick Taylor had NOTHING on Keith! Keith played AMAZING lead at that show. Rhythm guitar? Keith is the world's best. My opinion only.
oh for fucks sake, Taylor was a pentatonic wanker like all of us and he played mediochre stuff...stop idolising him, he never fitted in with the razor edge nastiness of what the stones needed...
@neilus I know what you mean, but I gotta disagree... Taylor and Richards were absolutely perfect. Richard's grimy & sleazy rhythms and Taylor's melodic meandering solos. Sounds much better then when Ronnie Wood joined the band.
i heard taylor left coz of jaggers ...um ...distinct personality havent confirmed that just so you know taylor was responsible for sympathy FACT! just wish i couldve seen em back in the hay day still one of the top five r&r bands of all time

this is why kieth is such a damn good rhythm guitar player. he knows exactly what to play behind any soloing guitar player to make him sound so good. just like malcolm with angus.
@Beachman98 He's not really unsung, but the reason he's not more well known is because didn't release anything approaching the quality of the recordings he did with the Stones after he left. I say that as a huge fan of Mick Taylor.
I have this on a soundboard bootleg vinyl called "Stones in Europe". It's amazing. They were peaking with M Taylor whose guitar slices like a razor. The band was simply TOO HOT and during this period blew any other band right off the stage. Here, they truly were the Greatest Rock n Roll Band In the World. No one could touch them. And, then, Keith began to decay from his habit and the band went from GREAT to good to mediocre to crap. Still love 'em though, always and forever.
the best live "creep" part of this tune i've ever heard - fucking epic - everybody brings it together beautifully in the first few minutes of this recording - it just doesn't get any better than this!!
Excellent, but apparently due to YouTube limitations this is cut about half. The full "Brussels Affair" version is 12:41 and it just rocks from the start.

You are of course right. It stands "(pt. 2)" right in the name of the video - how could I miss it. Anyhow, thanks for the correction.
