  • i dare your dad to do this while they're not eating (y)

  • The shark is in a sort of stage that allows them to be social and are not bothered by being pet. And congrats on that being your dad... thats pretty awesome.

  • if i've got a juicy rib-eye in front of me, there's no way in hell i'm going for the broccoli first either... i am jealous tho, that must've been an amazing experience.

  • I must agree with a lot of these comments that the video is cool to see and I must say that I am envious of the opportunity to be so close to such a beautiful and wonderful animal, the claims that these sharks are not dangerous is ridiculous. I have seen footage of people swimming with tiger sharks, but it is not a safe activity. There was once a bear researcher who thought it was cool to walk up and pet bears after they had eaten a bunch of fish. He got eaten by a bear eventually.

  • There are certain animals that ABSOLUTLY COULD NOT be pets. Could you have a bull shark or tiger shark in your swimming pool as a pet?

  • If they're so HARMLESS, then why didn't they jump in the water with them?? When will these so-called researchers quit insulting the people's intelligence and their own intelligence as well by making bogus claims about how cute and harmless sharks are??

  • @QuranSearchCom You havent got a clue what your harping on about, you've got your opinion, they've got theres. So get on with it, and shut up.

  • to me the only reason why this thing isn't attacking them is because they are busy eating O_O. If you look closely the shark is eating something O_O

  • No wonder hippies have a shorter lifespan

  • you idiots - tiger sharks are not predators? look at how aggressive they are in the latest feeding frenzy off QLD coast. They are only able to pat these things on head when they're biting into the flesh of a whale,

  • oh btw... thats my dad xD :D :D :D :D

    lol

all the channels.. and youtube.. were calling him stupid for this...

who wouldnt want to do this...

only thing i hate about this...

IT WAS 1 WEEK BEFOR I GOT THERE

oh and.. there not researchers... my dad saw the whale and they drove out and spotted a bunch of shark's.. well... Leon is..

    oh and..

    the whale they were on..

it was on a sand bank.. and there was a boat right behind them

  • although sharks are primarily predators not scavenders.

How did u get on the whale carcass?

  • well tbbh if a shark had a choice beetween eating a whale before its gone or snapping at a hand patting them lovingly ^.^ what do u think it would do?

Besides sharks dont like eating humans. the 5 or 6 shark attacks that happen every year are sharks that think we are seals because lying on a surf board makes us look the same shape from below. Humans however mercilessly hunt these creatures to make soup... dont even kill them... just cut off the fins and watch them sink.

  • Hey Thats my dad (in the orange jacket) ok so all you critisizing him just shut up...

i see no problem with patting a shark...

i mean come on! who doesnt wana do it

  • @blackghost12321 your dad is cool!

  • @blackghost12321 Just ignore them mate, people are pathetic, let em get on with it. No one is making them join in if they don't want to. Like i say mate, these people aren't worth the bother.

  • i applaude those guys for doing what they do. for al those people who are calling them idiots and stuff i dont see them critizing you on what you do. so shut up and let them live there life that way they want.!

  • all you people who are commenting on this...let me ask you a question

i am a conservationist....and very passionate about sharks

how many of you know anything about sharks other than they are bwig scwary cweatures that will gwobble you up when you gwo swimming? huh?

as long as you dont aggrivate them they wont attack

that would be a bull shark.

    Give em a break

Just cause you dont have anything better to do

  • lmao yeah thats right smile at the camera while ur hands on a shark, smart move

  • They didn't go in with the Sharks. If you want to convince pople that the sharks are safe then get in the water with the sharks with no cage, no diving gear , no weapons. The fact that they don't suggests that the sharks are bloody dangerous.

  • As much as sharks are misunderstood, this proves nothing, they are being tolerant because they are eating.

to see actual affection from a shark to a human, type in "DIVER KISSES MAX SHARK" first vid. Very touching

  • I'm a firm advocate for human / shark interaction when it is carried out professionally and with every safety precaution erred down to an absolute minimum. I don't see that these actions are in any way construed as having the sharks best interest at heart.

I can't see how these people consider themselves conservationists, a word banded around all to often these days, when the result of a slip or a bite, or both, would result in actions detrimental to the sharks. I see this as a stupid stunt.

  • Wtf.. isn't the carcass slippery? what if they fell off? I'm sure they wouldn't be happy joining them in the water..

Just because they are out of their reach and are able to pet them safely, doesn't make them as friendly as they are thinking.

  • Great work though, if there were more people like your team then maybe wildlife and the environment would be safe from human intervention.

  • hell no!! they ar just crazy to pet the shark.. and second, sharks can smell really good. so if they smell dead meat that they can recognized like another dead shark or whale. they gonna search for it. if they find something els they just keep on searching for the woonded one.

how do you think those shark swimmers go in the water?? they just trow some shark liver in the water and they ar alot more safer. and it wont take long before there ar sharks

  • I support your cause and also believe sharks aren't the killers the media portrays them to be. And even if they were, we are the ones who are invading their territory, not the other way around. However in saying that I don't really think patting one on the head whilst its feeding is really proving a point.. I think even the most ambitious environmentalist would think twice about jumping in the water with them.
