yes people she can sing, its a given, but she has NO emotion what so ever to what this song sound be. shes not a actress, and even if she isnt a actress she still doesnt relate to the role what so ever...I saw this production and it wasnt good, some actors were just amazing, but ashanti didnt deserve this role she was put in for ticket sales, that is all....

Unless U know 100 dont say sum1 cant sing; Ashanti has a beautiful voice! The EMOTIONAL IMPACT is different i.e. Diana Ross set the tone 4 HOME & 2date I have not heard a rendition of HOME that can bring me 2tears like DRoss' version. Ive always felt that DRoss is a BETTER ACTRESS than a singer; dont get me wrong DRoss can sing BUT her STARPOWER is more than her vocals which is why shes an ICON! As a matter of fact the Academy Awards owes DRoss an OSCAR 4 'LADY SINGS THE BLUES' & 'MAHOGANY'!!
