  • one of my favorite songs from my favorite band, chicago....

  • There is just nothing like a Chicago song to make you feel so young and carefree again just like we all felt in the 80's! There really is no way to explain the way the 80's felt with words. You just had to live it to really know but if you just let these songs into the deepest part of your soul, then you can almost feel the 80's within yourself. The way it felt to be alive during that time! I had the funnest and craziest times of my life then. The best memories of my life. I sure miss it all!:-(

  • Ok, now off to Oh Sherry

  • Who is the second singer?

  • @ptulip Bill Champlin...Big factor as to why they were able to carry on sucessfully w/o Cetera..

  • 80's music was so heartfelt! this is a perfect example....it's a beautiful piece of what our music was then....ALL EMOTION!!!!

  • I'm a Senior w fond memories of my kids playin this....luv it!!!

  • HONEY..I WAS AWAY FOR 4 DAYS AND U WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND...EVERY SECOND ...EVERY BREATH I TOOK..U MY DARLING ARE A HARD HABIT TO BREAK

  • This song reminds me of my first heartbreak back in the 80's.

  • if you want music thats similar check out Work of Art- Camelia. Its recent also

  • Did I hear he sing the word: "fuck" twice at the beginning?

  • @NgJackal1990 I did not hear the work "fuck".

  • Peter Cetera always looked like he had a dip of snuff in his lip.

  • @the1musicmike

Early in his career, he got into an altercation with some thugs at a ballgame who broke his jaw. It was wired shut but he kept on singing anyway. A lot of his vocal habits that came from that experience are still with him to this day.

  • @the1musicmike reminds me of steve lawrence with the cheeks

  • I dedicate this song to the 80's. You're a hard habit to break!

  • Yes Dear!

  • You guys must agree that women from 80s and 90s are decent ones. Compares to women these days...they are so bitchy!

  • @NgJackal1990 Идиот закрыл вверх

  • @DarkorbitKing100 Da fug?

  • Glad I was born in the 90's

  • Chicago made me love POWER BALLADS #musichasnocolor

  • GOD I miss the 80's the music was great and simple

  • A great band. And they could cut it live, no computers no auto tune rubbish.

  • could not have a dance in the 80's with out this joint

  • Such an outstanding video, the women are sexy and wild as well as showing a representation of frustration when dumped by their man. However, that being said...Chicago is such a fabulous horn's band, and actually, they wanted to sound like the Beatles of the mid/later sixies, Penny Lane, Sgt Peppers, Magical mystery tour....two of the best bands every to have a listening/fan club audience. Yet, I am NOT SAYING that Chicago is better than the boys, just different. They're a "hard habit to break"!

  • I hate women when they smoke but that would make them wilder and enjoyable ;)

  • 19 years... But love Chicago ^^

  • i love all music of chicago <3

  • I've never stopped livin' 'em!!!

  • what a song.......

  • I was born in the '90s, but I listen to this music every day. I grew up listening to it, and I love it. Chicago is one of my favorite bands

  • if you like this song ur an artist, coz no one can compare the music of yesterday than today.

  • One of my favs and yes finally in love.so I know;loved it in high school and even now.

  • If you've ever been in love, almost anyone can relate to these lyrics. His voice and the instrumentals are perfect.

  • when music was music!

  • The 70s and 80s were the best time for music in the history of this nation.

  • Poor card pyramid :(

  • @115road Damn, beat me to it. :-)

  • @10Tuxedo What did I beat you to? I'm trying to figure it out :)

  • Man was I ever born in the wrong decade. I was born in '93 and yet I love the music from the '80's. Maybe that has something to do with my dad raising me on 80's music and loving it the whole time. :)

  • @emotionalgirl123 I was born in 1983 so i was little during the 80's but my sister was 5 years older than me and so i grew up with 80's music too and i still love it to this day as well! Its awesome!

  • @emotionalgirl123 I feel you. I was born in 77 and it took me years to find out the names of bands and songs, that I was raised on in good ol' 80's. It was time for melodic music brought to it's highest point.

  • What type of bass is being used? Fretless, Synth?

  • sure are.....

  • just tooo true to believe these days have gone so fast,, wow, wish some one would repro, in this form of music.. NOT""" these are true singers.

  • i AM SO OLD

  • Bill and Peter Made This Song, Awesome Job Guys....

  • I would give ANYTHING I have, have ever had, or will ever have, just to relive one week, any week, of the 80's!!!

  • @MrJTnVA i agree

  • Me encanta, es simple pero muy buena interrpretación de Chicago.

¡viva la música y viva el amor!.

  • just real music!! miss the 70s/80s/90s

  • True definition of the term 'power ballad'

  • when music was music.

  • still the originals..

  • CHICAGO ARE THE BEST

  • One of their best songs and definitely the best of their 80s and 90s stuff. Kind of a strange video though - women pouting and throwing stuff does not make much sense. But what great lyrics, very well written,

  • Being without you is all a big mistake, instead of getting any easier, it's the hardest thing to take! I'm addicted to you, you're a hard habit to break...just can't go...such a hard habit to break..just can't go. I'm addicted to you, you're a hard habit to break, such a hard habit to break. I'm addicted to you, baby (Fade out)!

  • Now being without you takes a lot of getting used to. She learned to live with it, but I don't want to. Being without you is all a big mistake, instead of getting any easier, it's the hardest thing to take. I'm addicted to you, baby, you're a hard habit to break. I can't go, just cant go, ah, ah. I can't go, just can't go, ah, ah. Being without you takes a lot of getting used to. She learned to live with it - I don't want to!

  • Being without you is all a big mistake, instead of getting easier, it's the hardest thing to take! I'm addicted to you, baby, you're a hard habit to break. You found someone else, you had every reason. No, I can't blame you for running to him. Two people together, but living alone. I was spreading my love too thin. After all of these years, I'm still trying to shake, do much better, they say that it just takes time. But deep in the light, it's an endless fight. I can't get you out of my mind!

  • I got so far, you'd be here forever. Another illusion I chose to create. Don't know what you got until it's gone. And I found out little too late. I was acting as if you were lucky to have (to) do you a favor, like I knew you too were there. But then you were gone, & it all was gone. Had no idea how much I cared. Being without you takes a lot of getting used to. She learned to live with it, but I don't want to.

  • One of many fine songs from Chicago in the 1980s! "Chicago 17" was Peter Cetera's last hurrah with the group before going solo (he had previously released a solo LP in 1981 while still a member of Chicago). The LP was again produced by David Foster (as he had done with "Chicago 16"). "Hard Habit To Break" peaked on the Billboard pop singles chart in October 1984!

    Bravo, Chicago!

  • very nice song

  • so sad and yet so true

  • a 7 years with you is one of the wonderful years of my life,, farewell.. i know that this is for the best. thank for giving me a wonderful gift. ill never ever forget you though we part way not in good terms

  • why does there is a person that could be your hard habit to break?

  • I love Chicago! Peter Cetera's voice is amazing! That, and he was a babe, but that's just me being girly. Great band, awsome music.

  • assolutamente,fantastica:))))))))))))))

  • I wish I could remember the 80s and/or the 90s

  • Great Music will always LAST!!!

  • Theme song of my very first heartbreak back when I was young. It brings back memories - not painful memories but meaningful ones that have defined me as a person. My youth would have been so bland without the 80s songs.

  • What a Great film clip!!!Memories come Flooding back. Not many like This these Days.

  • I wish I could've been older in this era. I was just little. I remember all these songs from my parents and aunt and uncles

  • @afox610 turn your friends on to this kind of music........touches the spirit. Todays music instills evil feelings

  • Saw them at the auditorium theater in Chicago, 1970 When the horn section came out from behind amps on South California Purples thought I was going to cry. Would give anything to go back again and feel the energy, the life, the feeling of change in the air.

  • the 80s were the best now every now and then there is a great melody but not like back then

  • This is back when woeman cared about their looks......... No hoodies and holes all over their faces.

  • Im addicted to youuuuuuuuwhoooooo!! :)

  • Chicago ?? R U kidding ?? Unreal !! Tight, harmonic, sensitive, energetic !

Got plenty of WAX of em. A bad ass turntable and a Concert Hall Level sound system in the LR ! Think I'll go there now. OH crap, it's the Cops telling me ta turn it down,,,,,

AGAIN ...................... I had " I'm a Man" up a little "high". Sorry ........... OH crap,, just blew out a window .......... Hope thu neighbors like CHICAGO !!! YES !!!

  • This band most def belongs in the Rock&Hall Fame I feel more than any other band except The Beatles a nd The Beach Boys. There are great bands out there from the 70's to the 90's but how many have over 42 records produced, actually I believe the tcount was over 72. They have stayed strong even when their great Terry Kathm died-they pulled it together-fired A BAD LEAD SINGER YRS AGO, AND A DRUMMER AND HAVE BEEN GOING STRONG 40 YRS. HOW MANY BANDS CAN DO THat?

  • amen

  • 100000000000000000000000000 d 10000000000000000000

  • ugh..yeah, never really heard this song till my divorce...Also, notice how they had so many smokers in the vid, now a days I'd probably have to be Oxi or Heroine to make the " addiction" compairison

  • I spoke to Bill Champlin during a recording session the other day and he told me that when they're working with this song in the studio, David Foster always used to push the stop button after "i'm adic..." and laugh (I'm a dick) xD

Whatever, just some fun curiosa, =)

  • I hear this song and I think about a girl i lost.

  • love this song

  • This is one of the greatest groups of ALL TIME ! WHY are they NOT in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ? Or am I missing something here ?

  • @rlassy agree, them and Hall & Oates.

  • @rlassy long over due.. it's feakin' Chicago.. !

  • Musicians today don't care for great lyrics, they're to busy being stupid.

  • Thanks for putting this up, one of my all time favorite bands! Peace! :)

  • The music is just tremendous. Listen to all of the instruments. Why can't they make music like this anymore?

  • 39 people that disliked this song was probably there break up song

  • OMG this is amazing, brings back such lovely memories of my childhood! I miss this stuff!

  • Sad, sad feelings. Sent these lyrics to my then wife (who walked out on me nine years ago) after 13 years of marriage. Even now I choke up when hearing it here, on the radio, in the car, when I play their CDs. I loved her passionately then and still love and miss her after all these years. But, she was younger than I. After the divorce she played the internet dating game. Ended up trading Michael for Mike.

  • @MichaelCQuinn Sorry to read that. Nine years is a long time ... and you still remember. Cheer up I am sure there is someone else out there for you :)

  • THUMBS UP IF IF YES DEAR BRANG YOU TO THIS VID!

  • I know I'm going to get a lot of thumbs down for this, but by this time, Chicago was just Peter Cetera's backup band.

  • @darrinbaker00 Maybe true; however, Bill Champlin was a better singer. Of course that's my opinion. He should've sang more.

  • Eighties Hairs Styles rock!
