I am disappointed at the reaction this series posted by Anat0ly, who has done us great service. You cannot abstract these ideas from history. It was post-WW II, the Cold War was underway and the nuclear age had commenced. Truman and later Eisenhower wanted to develop atoms for peace but it stands to reason the military would utilize the technology. We didn't get nuclear-powered aircraft but submarines and other ships. A big thank you Anat0ly for bringing this to us.
