Akainu is completely devoid of logic and sense. He has no loyalty to his men and their lives. Im willing to bet coby will defeat him by the end of one piece as he is clearly meant to embody all that is wrong with the marines.

The gap in strength between Coby and Akainu is to vast, I doubt that even after the timeskip he's anywhere near him. Akainu will more than likely be Luffy's final enemy in the series.

After the Marine Ford Arc with Sengoku, Garp and Akoji resigning, maybe more, I can see Coby being promoted, he could be One Pieces Nelson. I doubt he will ever beat Akaniu, but then again Oda is very unpredictable so you may very well prove to be right.

@CornishCreamtea07 Blackbeard is made clear to be a terribly powerful character and he is very similar to Luffy in terms of crew and dreams. It would just seem right for him to be the final enemy especially as he has been built up over the entire show. While Akainu is certainly powerful Coby has will, determination and is a true marine. It feels like he should replace Akainu as these qualities seem to go a long way in the one piece universe. Akainu is more important to coby than Luffy

It has one of the greatest storylines, the character depth, bonds, emotional moments, progression and great fights just get reinforced every arc. However, if you won't give OP a chance because of something so trivial like your taste in art (which all beginning fans get used to) then go right ahead. You're missing out, though.

Art is not necessarly the only reason, I have tried watching OP, just couldn't get into it, like Bleach. It just doesn't embody my taste in a good anime. Also, just because it is mainstream and popular, doesn't make it necessarily good. It's just like Naruto, I stopped watching the show and really began losing interest in it due to the sheer over dramatization and dragging on. Bleach is also the same way, just seems to drag on. The only long series I like is Detective Conan.
