Personally, I would palm mute like another guy says, it sounds much better. I would also leave out the tapping part, it doesn't fit in imo.

quick tip, strum with your wrist, not ur forearm. and it doesn't look like ur palm muting the strums that needs to be. but i could b wrong. keep rockin
