  • The OS.ini file is in

    Var\Mobile\Library\Bochs\OS-NAME\

  • Isn't there an Ubuntu Mobile OS being worked on? You could also try Android x86, I don't know why people are strictly working on an Android for the iPhone, I don't think they've tried Android x86 yet, or they have but it falied, I dunno.

  • you guys really cant google correctly huh?

  • @btsouthmost,

Listen, almost everybody wants to know where the os.ini file.

I am afraid that this video is going to get some “don't like" ratings. This is a good video ,so PLEASE tell the YouTube users where is the os.ini

  • @SPY0097 i dont have the files anymore

  • Where is the os.ini file?

P.S. I really want to know

  • Mind sharing your OS.ini file with us?

  • Please give me direct download links to both of the Ubuntu OS files. Search online for a free 1gb file storage (there's plenty), and provide us those links. If this video isn't fake, then doing my request will be very easy.

  • although having another OS on any iPod, iPhone or even iPad may seem like a good idea, but i wouldn't recommend it since any i device its not made for OS such as Ubuntu you will actually b making it really really really slow.

  • Where did you get this OS. been loking everywhere but im getting nothing! help! I am looking for windows XP, vista, 7, 98, 2000, linux, ubunto. Anything!

  • try to run more lighter linux distros like Damn small linux -worked for me

  • Awesome, 7 Minutes and 50 Seconds to get through 30 Seconds :p

  • what did you do, editing the os.ini file in bochs, to make it run any iso file??

  • @tabernumse it requiers more than just editing the os.ini

  • @btsouthmost what did you do more, then? i'm really curious about it (:

  • @btsouthmost can you make a tutorial for us?

  • HOW!!!!!!!!!!!! N' STUFF

  • My neck hurts

  • Good name you gave your device there.

  • What application are you using to view your ipod on your computer? I've always been curious about that. It's really cool. Thank you for your time and awesome video. P.S where do I find out more about editing the iPod touch on the computer?

  • @frdfv5 well ur gonna need 2 applications 1 in your pc and 1 on ur idevice.to make it easier just seach "veency on ipod touch tutorial" theres a lot of vids that can help u. and for editing ur idevice on ur pc i recommend using "ifunbox" which is a nice tool to explore and edit ur idevice

  • Maybe the problem is that Ubuntu is to big and too slow for the iTouch. Try getting Xbuntu to work first. It is smaller and designed for slower machines.

  • plaese make linux on ipod touch becuase the apple system is bad and ican't download music without itune and i can't download the software without app store and ican't download music or other without computer

i HOPE to type LINX on IPoD ToUcH

i HOPE to type ADOPE reader and flash player on ipod touch

I HOPE type JAVA on ipod touch

I HOPE to type firfox on ipod touch

I can't type that becuase iam studint in meddill school

    good luck

  • @SuperDoritos1

    YoU ArE Anoying!

  • @SuperDoritos1 umm you can run flash player with FRASH

and you can use a UA faker to run firefox-like content

but why can't you type i don't see why its really that hard... though i doubt you'd be in middle school then...

and i think that java may be supported... look into it on cydia there's a section labeled JAVA.

and you can download all that stuff with safari download manager and etc. with ifile you can view them and so forth... so you are really whining for no reason.

  • You should try to run damn small linux

  • if you get a black screen try typing =fsck and you should atleat get it to start if it asks you a question just press the y and enter buttons

  • the thing is that bochs doesnt have a keyboard

  • How exactly did you modify the os.ini file?

Can you explain/send link to your modified file, please?

(it never occurred to me it may be the ini file and not my boot disk)

  • i will be making a tutorial when ever i have some time, i still need to work on it but if you can help me i need to enable acpi in bochs inorder for it to work properly. & i dont really feel like doing it lol.

  • please make a tutorial soon! even if it isn't perfected. :-)

  • I believe that if you run any OS in Bochs (that is, Bochs for the computer) and it works (and you log on and everything, which saves the data to the boot disk) you can take the info in the ____.bxrc file and transform it into the os.ini file for it to work, with a few modifications.

  • so what your saying is that i should install bochs onto my computer run the ubuntu iso and retrieve the data from the .bxrc file? but that doent enable acpi error it gives me or does it?

  • The original Windows "os.ini" files work, with a few lines of code with "acpi" in them. So what you need to do is install Bochs (I think its version 2.4.2) and create a folder in the directory labeled "ubuntu", then have the boot disk labeled the same thing. What you really need is the proper parameters for the boot disk (which I have no idea how to figure out when trying to run TinyXP) or you will get an error message. If it works retrieve the info in the bxrc file and place it in an ini file.

  • i figured out how to enable acpi by puting this into the os.ini "plugin_ctrl: acpi=1" but now when it finishes loading the kernel it crashes maybe its because the ubuntu.iso is to large. im gonna try dsl before attemping to do anything else.

  • Perhaps the cylinders, stp, and the other one aren't correct, possibly double-checking the file could solve the problem.

  • @stardestroyer001 I succesfully runned damn small linux but it took 30 to 40 minutes which i dont understand why, since its a very small os? i mean like if i could run windows 98 which is double its size anyways ill be posting a vid soon.

  • Cool, could you upload it?

And if its too slow, perhaps change the cpu speed to 620000.

  • @stardestroyer001 yeah already did that and increased the ram usage and increased the vga update interval. i think its something wrong i did to cause it to go slow but ill post the vid today.

  • @btsouthmost I meant could you take the file and upload it to a site (4shared handles files up to 200MB, zipping the file might get it through) with instructions so I can beta test it? Thanks.

  • Awesome dude. But with what did you record your Iphone, or is that an emulated iphone on windows. Since i searched whole freakn google to find it =)

  • Btw, they need to make an multiboot iphone os. Instead of emulation you would have real full ubuntu =D

  • i used veency to connect my ipod touch wirelessly to my computer and you`ll also need a program called ultravnc on your pc just search "veency tutorial" on youtube theirs alot of videos that can help you.

  • Thanks =) that helped me alot =D

  • @CoD4User @CoD4User

That's an iphone emulator on windows. One is called mobione.

  • Looks very impressive!
