HOLY!!!! At :51 I'm pretty sure someone just sped up the VID...HAHAHAHA I can't BELIVE how fast this guys fretting is and he still get's GREAT innotation... simply amazing. I find it nearly impossible to follow he's so fast... SO awesome.
Right now, he's the only player who encourages me to work on my speed ,through his playing. He can slice through changes like butter...and it's all articulate, and acoustic. All I play is my Gitane D-500, it's all I can afford right now. I've listened to the Rosenbergs for over 10 years now. Thanks!!
@cminor7b5 But what happened to it? The varnish looks messed up, de moustage is missing and there is a weird black thing on the end of the fretboard near the oval hole.
@flashmaster1990 its a whole new world my friend...hope you get into Gypsy jazz and gain an understanding and appreciation for true class and musicianship
@flashmaster1990 - I hear you, mate. I love my metal, but I also love great jazz and the chord voicings and fast, tasteful licks just like those! If I could afford one, I'd want a 7-string gypsy guitar, hehe!
If you love both, Metal and Gypsiejazz than check out: Emil Werstler.. he has combined both stiles very well. :)
And it´s funny, i know the German Gypsie Player Joscho Stephan (if you not know him, you have to check out his Youtube version of "Bossa Dorrado". Killer!) and actually he is a huge Metal fan :D
when I said argentines mostly, I mean that's what most people seem to like; but as far as I've heard Stochelo doesn't use them. Dennis might know it's his video :-)
@grfellows : As far as I know Stochelo use Galli strings. This strings are okay if you change them every week (if you play like 6 hours/day) but if you don't, they turn very ugly after a while with an horrible sound....
Argentines mostly, but I heard Stochelo uses silk and steels (gallis?). Personally I've been using John Pearse 'Nuages' strings which I really like which sound like argentines but seem to last a lot longer so far. I had the action on my guitar really high (chip forks under bridge)for ages but it was hurting my hands to play so I lowered it by half which was great, but got a lot of buzz at that height from silk and steels because they're lower tension.Nice if you get the setup right though
