  • Their retirement show they're gonna play this song, guarantee it.

  • I can make out what the guitarists and the drummer are, but what the hell is the singer?

  • @Tony63909 A God

  • its amazing he gets all the words, i mean he had a kind of mess up at one of the shows i went to and i have heard of like 3 others, but with those kind of drugs, man thats impressive

  • @jarocore the ugly fucker? lol

  • @jarocore totally agree. Carey, Grohl and Bonham

  • 8:55 That shuffle around the stage is Buck Nasty..Followed by that patented Maynard yell. That would make any crowd go fucking insane!!

  • not bad

  • maynard kills it

  • He's so awful at dancing.

  • @KindaShort

if I didnt know any better i'd think he's retarded.

but he's not.. so that just makes it fucken creepy

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP PEOPLE!!! I fucking hate it when everyone wants to run their suckholes during an awesome song.

  • Not a bad cover, but it does make me appreciate the awesome job that Robert Plant does on the original version!

  • @jpfoodsaver

    Dude...

are you gonna be ok ?

  • 6:17 EPIC RETARDED MONKEY LOOKING DANCE!!!

  • This is just religiously splendid in all its glory.

  • Ol' Maynard's a strange one

  • As bitchin as tool is, no band will ever out-due zeppelin. And i really like tool

  • Whoever disliked this is just pissed because Tool managed to out due Zeppelin

  • why is maynard having a seizure 7 min. in? LMFAO

  • one of the best covers EVER DONE!!!! haven't seen em do this live yet, maybe next tour? CROWBAR also did a damn good version of this

  • 9:00 on you can totally hear a Crimson influence...I totally wasnt expecting it to go into such an awesome 7/8 groove...epic

  • 9:20 adam kinda head bangs!

  • such an amazing song i wish i seen zeppelin or tool play this live we need time machines!!!! if this song doesnt make your hair stand up on end by the end you are a robot

  • 9:00 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I FUCKING LOVE TOOL SO MUCH!!

  • @blacksamson11 Hell yea. Phish knows how to lay this one down. Among many others.

  • Soooo good.

  • He thinks Zeppelin.

  • @blacksamson11 yeah bro i saw them play it in chicago last week and it was purely fucking awesome

  • WOLFENSTEEEEEEEEEEEIN!

  • I would butt fuck a gorilla, nut in its hand and have it slap me if it meant I could see this song live.

  • The HELL you say...Rainbow, Sabbath....HUGE.

  • if anybody can cover this song its tool. and if anybodys worthy of covering this song its tool. done.

  • does he need a quarter?

  • @emiliovandradejr hahahaha. NICE!

  • preference , you either prefer this or zeppelins version, or you like both. just please stop the comparisons, led zeppelin has changed rock especially for tool, obviously since tool was inspired enough to make a cover

  • i love how maynard runs around stage crouched at the end screaming his head off xD gotta love him..

  • Jizzzzzzz in my pants >.<

  • Why the hell would you compare the Tool and Led Zeppelin versions of this song? They're both amazing bands and to be honest to say one is better than the other--especially since Tool is paying tribute to Zeppelin--is kind of in a way an insult to both the bands

  • @walabalabingbong You're right, but let's be honest. These guys don't touch Zeppelin, lol.

  • Obviously Led Zepplins version of this song is Better!! they wrote the damn song!!

Tool Simply is honouring the epicness of not only the tune but the band who wrote it...Extremely well done.. Both bands are and were legends if there time.!!!

  • @spider0179 How can u say a song is better just because it is the orignal? ESPECIALLY when you're talking about Zep who have a poor reputation of stealing other peoples music

  • this song cannot be done without a keyboard, it sounds shitty.

  • Maynard > Plant

  • @andrusy That's a foolish statement.

  • hes not singing an octave lower dumbass its in the same key.

  • @JohnnyDaGreat1 lololol u dumb

  • It doesn't matter if you prefer Zepplin's or Tool's version they're both unbelievably good

  • God, I hope they play this song live again before they retire

  • @TorrMup they will never retire! >:D TOOL IS IMMORTAL!!!

  • TALKBOX !!!!! THIS GUY IS LEGENDARY.

  • Anyone know if these guys have ever done a Set the Controls For The Heart of The Sun cover? I was kinda wondering since it was one of the Pink Floyd songs that was most infuential on their style, yet I can't find any footage or audio.

  • Zeppelin's was good... but TOOL made it great....

  • @MCPuckett77 both are great in their own right

  • @TorrMup to true...

  • i think its better vocals than original, more powerfull

  • better than the original, especially vocal and drum

  • @phillandry original what? i hope you dont mean zepplin? if so ,you must be a youngin!

  • Helllll Yes is what I have to say about this video!! @ llawevets What happened to my man?

  • i miss hungtion st

  • only 25000 views??!?! wtf this is a very precious tape

  • one asshole needs to be quartered.

  • LOL!!! watch this guy at 8:55 he gets on his kness and runs around screaming, its the shit!!!!!!

  • after realising this cover, i believe led zeppelin members agreed this song isn't their song anymore

  • what a fuckin tune!!!! well good for a cover. love what what they did with it.

  • 9:01 crowd goes nuts! i fucking love this band!

  • not a loud enuf up load, yes i have good speakers and they are on ten!

  • Tool is off the planet! me too awsome cover you fkn rejects!

  • Holy dog shit!! that was when justin was using a musicman!

  • @lilrocker1053 Its not Justin

  • i love the way he growls into the mic like 5 mins into the song and his fuckin dance moves like 7 mins in<3<3

  • The only band that can justify a Led Zeppelin cover.

  • too insane to be on youtube.

  • Maynard is sooooooo fucking cool!!!! AHHHHHHHHH

  • When was this recording shot?

  • @dfled662

    you are stupid f..k

  • Don't know how you guys got on that subject, but I gotta say, I find something really special when I listen to Zeppelin and Sabbath's music, and for some reason Priest never really did that for me. Everyone's going to find the beauty in different places though, so just let that be.

  • When Maynard screams at the end, is he running around on his knees?

If he is then he can seriously haul A

  • Tool rules!

  • FUUUUUUCK MAN, MAYNARD IF YOU READ THIS.. I"M VERY SRRY FOR YOU WHAT HAPPEND IN THE PAST.

BUT MAN, YOU AND YOUR BAND ARE FUCKING GOOD... I REALLY ENJOY YOUR MUSIC THNX GrEETZ AMADO from HOLLAND

  • Shepards Bush Empire, London. I was there

  • someone should've told the crowd to shut the fuck up.

  • f i s h and c h i p s

  • maynard is totally tripping out lol

  • i can play this on my guitar....love it. wish i could see it live though..missed them this year

  • even better live. That's the case with all of tool's songs though.

  • seeing this live is something really special

  • Whoa adam headbangin @ 9:25!!!

  • thats the first time ive really seen adam actually get into the music that much. well...obviously hes always into it, but usually he is very stoic on stage. it doesnt matter what presence he shows, as long as he feels the music while others feel it too.

  • True that man

  • Have you seen Third Eye Live?

  • Third Eye live is INSANE

***TOOL live is insane. Saw them 8/7/2009

  • 9:01 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

    Fuck YEAH!!

  • *NOTE ON MAYNARD'S JERSEY LETTERINGS*

    Reads: FISH AND CHIPS

    hehehe

  • good some people who know what theyre talking about.why was judas priest even brought up? watch VH1s the history of heavy metal and it tells the story.i guarantee if u asked tool who was a bigger influence out of priest and zeppelin they might laugh.anyway great cover of the best hard rock band ever.

  • Wrong, it was Black Sabbath and Zeppelin.

  • still remains the fact i like tool version more than the LZ version.

  • What!! Zepplin IS a founder of rock and roll. Sabbath is good, but they didnt start it. L.Z. 1 was released in 68, Sabbath didnt release thier first till 70. As far as Judest Priest, theyre not even close to being in the league of Zeppelin.

  • I don't care if they did, I'm into rock, not bullshit labels.

  • so what, Zeppelin was far more diverse than either Sabbath or Priest and were more influential than both of them.

  • @slashrules88 tool bury l.z

  • @slashrules88 what a load of bollox

  • @slashrules88 dont even compare zeppelin to those two bands id say, personally ; led zeppelin/tool/pink floyd, only three bands i can listen to ANY song and never tire of

  • @slashrules88 i'd have to disagree with you there. you could argue the quality of black sabbath and led zeppelin all day, but as far as influential it goes hands down to Black Sabbath. Ever heard of the genre metal? yea guess where it started. Zeppelin definitely created some hard rockers, but they were not the birth of metal.

  • You're a fucking idiot , tool is a talented band bumfights the fucking zilch, shut your cunt mouth before i stuff it with treats.

  • For me, nothing will ever come close to Zeppelin.

That said, this was pretty kickass.

  • Man you've got balls.

    O_O

Your gonna get trolled from here to Europe.

  • not gonna lie. don't love the cover, have mad respect for these guys (being good music in the 21st century and all) but to me they just don't gel as Zep does. i anticipate and appreciate a few thumbs down...

  • a tribute to the band who truly started hard heavy rock covered by a great band good fuckin shit

  • You have no idea what you are talking about. Do some research even Black Sabbath themselves admit that zeppelin started hard heavy rock. Sabbath started heavy metal and Judas Preist was way later hopefully someone else on here will back me up on this. Look is up there are countless interviews.

  • Priest was formed in 69. Sabbath was formed in 68. Zep was formed in 68. Priest was not way later, they were all at the same time. I'd say that the heavy Rock that Tool plays was influenced more by Sabbath and Priest than Zep, Zep I'd say influenced more the classic Rock bands that the heavy bands.

  • @rmasi001 "I'd say that the heavy Rock that Tool plays was influenced more by Sabbath and Priest than Zep" -rmasi001

thats why they are playing sabbath and priest songs?

  • naysayers: you wanna hear a butchered cover, listen to dolly parton cover Stairway.

don't hate because you can't cover Zeppelin like Tool can. this song fits them so well.

  • amazing

  • It was perfect in my opinion. They f'n rock. One of the best real bands out there!!!

  • yeah, ya gotta get used to the megaphone, but after you get passed that, and the fact that he's singing an octave lower that Robert Plant, its actually pretty good in my opinion.

  • it's not an octave lower.

it's actually a half step higher

  • @catalystvoxco it is good, ive listend to tool alot more, and this is actually rather good

  • @catalystvoxco He's singing in the same octave, he's just using a fuller voice so it sounds lower.

  • @catalystvoxco tool killed this fuckin song, perfect sums it up

  • Comment removed

  • @catalystvoxco do you know what an octave is? He is NOT singing any lower than Plant, much less an octave!

  • @dfled662 robert plant is kind of whiney

  • @dfled662 pfft, I love it.

  • @dfled662

    stupid fuck

  • @dfled662 Were you dropped on the head at birth?

  • @dfled662 you know, people say you should kill yourself... just sayin.

  • @YouWantMyHuebos69 bro i really dont care, tool sucks...

  • maynard is the fuckin shit

  • nothing short of amazing.

  • what a way to cover track...

    WOW!

  • ahh memories..

  • my favorite song =x

  • This might be the best cover song EVER

  • That's what I said the first time I heard this.

Big fan of the Jane's Addiction Ripple cover though

  • maynards one insane dude, but god damn can he scream. If i could scream like that i would just scream at people on the street. It would be great

  • thats what i say all the time. I would use "fuck youuuuu" from hush.

  • Tool and Zeps version are both really good... They are both kinda similar bands when you think about it, killer vocalists, guitarists (personally i think danny carrey and justin chancellor are better at their respective parts.

Both versions probably evoke the same emotions in different types of people. Personally Tools owns Zeps, but they came up with the riffs so fucking mega cred to them.

Zep and Tool fans should unite to blow up MTV studios in my opinion.

  • i'm with ya dude. f*** mtv

  • keep in mind they did this cover in '94.. So Paul D'Amour is the bassist in this video.

But I'm with you with the MTV shit. Fuck Tokio Hotel and all those other emo bands that are over played.

  • Amen to that....

  • Tool is the reincarnation of led zepp

  • whats maynard using on his mouth? anyone know?

    peace

  • megaphone for voice distortion is my guess

  • Doesnt it say fish and chips?lol

  • amazing. what's maynard got written on his back?

  • Great

  • So Fucking Sick!!!

  • Que hermosa cancion..
