Brilliant. IMO, it's always better to have an actor read a poem, than the poet, because it brings another dimension to the experience-particularly with a phonetic poem.

Whenever I go to a poetry reading and hear the the poet read his/her own work, I invariably think- "Who came up with the idea of having the poet read"? That's like having the fashion designer model his own clothes.

Study the score. It's extremely, vigorously, rigidly structured; the whole thing. It really is a classical sonata done with syllables. It makes sense that a performer would try to reflect that. I've done it in my own performances of the piece; and even if you try to fight it, it comes out anyway.
