It's great that young folks are taking such an interest in the history of Northampton, did there no used to be a Royal Palace in the City Walls, mentioned during the War of the Roses?
my family are from northampton , i miss dear old northampton , one day i would love to live there , maybe we could all have a pint at the Elephant or monks park club LOL my great grandfather was a founding member of monk parks club , and my mum grew up at 8 lea road , god i would love to be there again , cheers mates a fan from the united states
I am doing a project on Northampton history with my year 8 class fancy coming into school to talk to them for me. Post a comment and i will send you my email address
@tinzmaz Hi tinzmaz, a lot of the people who helped to make this video have moved on or left Northampton now. What I would suggest is that you make enquiries at the museum in Guildhall Road. Do you live locally? Do you know it? If so, why not pop in and ask to speak to Jerry Weber - I'm sure he would be delighted to help out!
Young man, I have to say this is THE most refreshing, exciting piece of work I have come across from today's youth. You and your friends have done a fantastic job and with your kind of attitude you could change the world for the better. The fact that you were able to interview your city's current most famous person, Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, Watchmen), shows the kind of respect you deserve. You gave me hope for the future! Thank you!!
hey this is cool....always wondered why Northampton had a castle yet no remains or landmarks.....still, dig up the car park and there will be plenty of history to show off!!
my dad told me that when he was digging the carpark at the train station all u could hear was crunchin everywere u stood, and that when they first discovered the bones they was told 2 keep quite and just 2 lay over it because they didn't want the work stopped.
Why cant the council put up some kind of landmarks in all northampton , history spots???instead of wasting our bloody money .......silly statues on abington street spring to mind..
My guess is that a lot more people would have carried weapons during the Middle Ages, but you would have to ask a historian about that! I certainly would have thought that there was a lot more knife crime in, say, 1408 than there was in 2008.

Little kid at the start says, '..people walking around with weapons.' Guess some things don't change.
