This is the problem with Scientology and its critics. The tape is obviously and poorly edited. If it is not just intended as silly humor, it is easily as scary as anything the most Scientologists do. I would like to have seen the original uncut interview. It might shed some light on the organization. But all of the anti-Scientology information is slanted to one side and all of Scientology's defenders are slanted to the other. Is the interview without the cut-and-paste games available?

It's about as ridiculous as Homer Simpsons's interview from "Homer Badman". This is meaningless, and I can't infer anything about the original tape from it.

Why do you think the British interviewer asked him at the end, "Do you think you might be mad?"
Because during the entire (original) interview Hubbard seemed smarmy, sneaky, and not at all grounded in reality.
