@Hannackk thank you soooo much. I continue to listen to it over and over again. Classical music is so much better than what I hear on the radio now. So peaceful.
Lovely dancer but as a whole I found this video highly unsatisfactory. If you are doing a day in the life of a ballerina, 1) Get permission to go to all the rehearsals, classes and the actual performance. Lots of slamming doors in this video. 2) IDENTIFY her partners please 3) Show some of the rehearsal process. Who is coaching her? What are their comments. Don't just slam music over random clips.
Amazing...I had always known that any dancer, stage performer, etc., had a lot of hard work to accomplish, but I really never realized just how HARD it really is...I so appreciate their efforts and will always remember this video when I watch an performer in the future...thanks for posting and sharing! :-)
I just started dancing and I'm 17. Is that too young to become a professional ballerina? I have a lot of determination and strive to accomplish my goal. In any case, thought I'd just ask the question.
Ballet is by far the most rewarding and challenging art form bar none! You can tell a good dancer when they make it look soo easy you start to think you can do it! lol
i wanna do this on professional level and that's what i really love and really wanna do! ballet is the real love of my life! but i started with 16 and i'm ways too fat for being a professional ballerina..such a shame!
@UnaaMunaa Actually, nowadays, the ballet world has been changed. It really isn't about your weight, or your height, but more about your level of dancing. True, some companies can be picky, but if you have drive, you'll find a fit somewhere. Besides, ballet is really slimming work anyways, so even if you believe (key word- believe) you're too fat now, in a few months you could, and most likely will, slim down. No need to be frustrated.
She's so adorable! I remember seeing her at the PdL and I'm she deserves to be at the Royal Ballet. I'm a flamenco dancer and sometimes I have crazy long days like that. My last one was- teach at the studio from 9AM - noon. Rehearsal from 1PM - 4:30. Be at the restaurant (it was a dinner show) at 6:30PM, then showtime at 8! Thankfully it's only once or twice a month (and sometimes none!) and it's a looong day but I LOVE IT!
i see these little "day in the life of a ballet dancer" and i just KNOW that i'm meant to do that. my potential ballet career is on hold- i have one more year of academic college to finish up. i'm afraid i'll be too old to audition for companies by the time i graduate. it saddens me, because every day i feel like i should belong in a ballet studio, and on stage rather than sitting in psychology, anatomy and political science classes :(
@NinjaTree6 I know how you feel. I'm turning 18 this year and I feel I've missed my chance. I noticed after my ballet class one day that there were auditions for a dance school but it was for ages 10-17. :(
I started ballet this year and I'm about to start high school. The school I'm going to gives tons of opportunities to perform thankfully. I really hope I can have a professional career like this
@4everhogwarts I wish you all the very best and hope you make it. Just remember not to overtrain while still growing and get plenty of rest and a sensible diet. The next few years will make great demands on you so stay fit. LOL

Don`t worry. Same things are happening to me. So I decided that if we just have to work harder then everyone else. We may not get into a large company, but maybe a small one. Work at your dancing, and the if you`re not already in high school, apply to a Preforming Arts High School, this will give you lots of opportunities to preform in front of important people. i love the royal ballet and Yuhui Choe is one of my favorite ballet dancers there among others.... she i wonderful and graceful. I think it's so funny how she says nutcracker.
3:38-3:41 this is my favorite choreography of this dance. i've seen the Nutcracker about 3 times and i think some choreography have differed from others. i love how passion it looks when she bends backward like that.
Ok I do agree with you about ballet being everyone's dream well it is my dream and ballet does get u tired I love this video too btw I was in the nutcracker too:)

@babycee303 Well I know my schedule is very similar to hers; get up early, go to all day rehearsal, I don't have performances at night though, but I still don't get home 'till very late. So (sometimes) I eat in the morning before I leave and at night when I get home! :)

@dimplz1151 She doesn't have a British accent. British-influenced perhaps, so I can understand why she might sound British to a non-Briton, but to me as an Englishman, she sounds East Asian.
I like this very much. What would have made this better is showing what the ballerina eats throughout the day to keep up her strength. A cup of coffee does not make for a good diet and gives the wrong impression.
ballet is a rough, hard, and long journey. it will never end, you will always have something to strive to become better at but you love it have a passion just remember when u fall get right back on your feet

@hvguy Not robots, they're playing mannequins, or dolls. In this production they play the dolls, Pierrot and Columbine, European fairty tale characters.
Omg, She is beautiful. Does anyone know if you have to train at the Royal Ballet School to join the Royal Ballet? I know that you have to train at the American Ballet school to join NYCB, so i was wondering if it was the same for the Royal Ballet, or if you could be from another company. Its my dream to join but im american
@balletbabe522 -No. Of course I think you have more chances if you've been specifically prepared by that school, but overall I don't think they themselves care. It depends on your skill and talent. E.g. to get in Moscow conservatory you don't HAVE to go to a school which operates with it, although its better if you do. Chase your dream!!! :-)))))
@balletbabe522 Sarah Lamb who is a principal with Royal grew up and trained in Boston then joined the Royal after becoming principal with Boston ballet
@balletbabe522 When it comes to young dancers joining the company they often look firstly at what RBS has to offer them, but you don't HAVE to go to RBS to get into RB. They, as Snezhinka9 said, don't really care, as long as they see something in you. Sarah Lamb and Alexandra Ansanelli are American, and so are Deirdre Chapman and Eric Underwood. And, as Snezhinka also said, go ahead, chase you dream! :)
It's great for the public to get a reminder of just how much hard work goes into the ballets that they pay handsomely to see; it may help take away some of the sting whilst forking over money for tickets. NYCB should do the same on their site, as they have the most insane work schedule of any company in the world.

Its my dream to join but im american
balletbabe522 1 year ago
@balletbabe522 -No. Of course I think you have more chances if you've been specifically prepared by that school, but overall I don't think they themselves care. It depends on your skill and talent. E.g. to get in Moscow conservatory you don't HAVE to go to a school which operates with it, although its better if you do. Chase your dream!!! :-)))))

@balletbabe522 Sarah Lamb who is a principal with Royal grew up and trained in Boston then joined the Royal after becoming principal with Boston ballet
lar8200 1 year ago

@kdub10009 idk abt's pretty intense too ive heard..and u also have a company like the kirov..ive heard they are NUTS with their schedules
