  • i wouldn't have left the timber in the sand. It will rot.

  • Where is the leveling and making sure the block are pitched the correct way for water drainage??

  • fantastic - does anyone recommend to use a membrane skin under the bricks or is it totally a gimmick?

  • @2648anil

Membranes are pointless and a waste of money. Save them for the chipping beds etc.

  • Can someone tell he what he does with the gaps left by the removal of the timber after screeding?

  • @tammas2000

From what I've seen on other vids, they take sand and add it back to the grooves left by the screed boards as they work their way down the project. They use a metal concrete finishing trowel to pack it in and smooth the sand down. I've also seen them fill the grooves when they lay the bricks down as they get to them using the trowel.

  • " I used to go to work and operate the wacker plate wearing my nice white trainers, but having experienced nearly twenty years of broken toes, I have now come to the conclusion that safety boots really do make more sense"....lol

  • why is it building sand not good??

  • building sand is too soft to be used for the laying course for block paving and does not compact like course grit sand does, when building sand get wet it can turn into slurry which will undermine the base for the block paving
