  • Where was this?

  • Why do people shoot God's creation?

  • @rileydd08 god? lmao

  • Coyotes are not necessarily nocturnal. They are very adaptable and will be active and alert whenever the hunting is best, i.e. they will change their habits to suit the season and the prey. Very clever and adaptable mammals!

  • my sis told that she saw cayotes in many times, when she was in stouffville, ontario.actually she said they were flock in her front yard, when dark begins.

  • @mb33mb33 coyotes are not naturally nocturnal, they are often referred to as suh because the presence of human beings has altered their lifestyle.

  • My aunt hears coyotes howling behind her house. behind her house is really dangerous mainly because of the poisionous snakes though.

  • @willlittell No coyote shooting for me. The only vermin I neutralize are the ones that come inside the fenced area of the property... so far the coyotes are content to wander on "their" side of the fence. ;0)

  • Awww, so cute, and beautiful scenery! I'm subscribing!

  • Lol... Pst Pst

  • howl then take a nap Wile E. Coyote

  • One.

  • niceeee

  • I have heard this coyote howling noise in my backyard along with some barking, since we have the cheap pool covering that gets filled with water at the top the coyote probably drinks water out of that. the gate that separates the woods and our backyard is broken so the coyote must hang out around our backyard. Also something dragged our garbage can off to the side and bit wholes in it. My mother also saw a wolf/ dog like figure running up the bike doing a odd zig zag, with a real fluffy tail!

  • I love their howls.

The only time I was very close to them, was when I was 8. I was walking my horse up to the back of the huge stable right next to the L.A. Hills, and I saw the reflection of eyes and heard a sound. My horse spooked and all the sudden about 20 coyotes started howling at once in the brush next to us. I put my horse away as quickly as I could and got back to the barn on a fast jog. That was one of the most scariest moments I have had with wild animals.. but I have 1 scarier. xD

  • We have tons of coyotes here at the L.A. mountains. I hear them after midnight howling and barking. I've even seen them in my backyard! It's awesome!

  • "pore?" you mean, "poor?"

  • Yep - we have them in Ohio too. Their numbers seem to be growing year after year. Which to me is cool - but to the farmers, not so cool. I like to see and hear them sing at night - very awesome!

  • People have a misconception that coyotes are a western "commodity". We have them all over North Carolina. CanadiaNecro1 is somewhat right about their behavior. Coyotes are curious animals but are not prone to attacking humans unless they feel severely threatened. We live on quite a bit of land that is mostly wooded and has marsh land so we see/hear them quite often. They like to scope out the poor ducks

  • Lonely coyote.

  • I love the sound they make. I feel adrenaline every time I hear it! Really there is no reason to fear healthy coyotes. Rabies is a problem of animals that live in the city. I saw a rabid coyote once. He was in a park near my home and was walking around in broad daylight and kept collapsing randomly. The two forms of rabies cause animals to be either vicious or lazy. If you see either, call animal control or the police. If the coyote is howling, he's healthy and you needn't fear.

  • I love coyotes. They are the sound of the west.

  • Not just the west. Visit appilachicola national forrest in north florida. You can hear them all night. And when they join up its amazing aint it? Its like a choir.

  • Yes, I've read of coyotes in the east. I guess they're just more abundant - and emblematic - of the western U.S. than the eastern U.S.

I once heard - around midnight - a pack of coyotes howling in a canyon while camping by myself out in the California desert. With the echo from the canyon walls, it sounded like I was at the gates of hell. It wasn't really howling like in this video. It was more like an evil mewling sound. I've read that this is commonly done when coyotes corner some food.

  • Awesome. Yea coyotes have always been looked at as pests and in the east there are more people...meaning coyotes are more shy. I remember being on a turkey hunt in the forrest listning to that same sound, they were running though. It was so loud and gettin closer and closer. We saw 2 of em. It was pretty damn cool

  • I was friends with this old rancher in Utah ... a guy that had lived in a desert basin in western Utah his entire adult life: the ranch was >20 miles from the closest town. The man told me that, from his experience, a coyote is just like a dog, in the sense that, if you treat it mean it will be mean; if you treat it well, it will be friendly towards you. He was a wise old guy.

The first coyote I ever heard was in that man's home, drifiting off to sleep after midnight.

  • beautiful little musical voice!!

    thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for the video! There was a strange noise the same as at 10 secs in the video. It was going on a a while and woke my up :P I was wondering what it was :P

  • Thank you for putting this video on here. I was hearing that same noise outsidebmy house and I didn't know what it was, but this video explained it. haha

  • Thank you Marisa for taking time to view my clip of one of our many local coyotes. Glad you appreciate them too..... ~~ Karen P.S. If you have time, check out a few of my Hummingbird ones too....

  • The coyotes that live on my property do this type of thing around 4pm before it starts to get dark. They lie around like that and "meet up" with the others who wander in. Then they all head out together. There is one who lays in the same spot under a tree and then the others show up. Beautiful animals who eat vermin and plague-carrying rodents. Glad to have them around.

  • cyotes live right in the negborhood park or behind it and there cool theres also jack rabbits

  • I live in So. California and our backyard looks very very similar to this video. I actually hear coyotes outside right now which is what made me to come to youtube to see what other people have posted of their coyote experiences. (I don't have a video myself to post here yet though.)

  • uhhhh, coyotes don't bed down for the night. They're nocturnal. That one was probably just waking up.

    Cool video though.

  • Hi MB...Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comment about the video....And also for the factoid of their sleeping routine...Had no idea...Haven't read much about coyotes, but love to watch them around our property daily... ~~ Karen

  • actully, my area where i live is kinda grassy and has a lot of coyotes, and i can wake up at 9:00 a.m. and there could be some in the prarie (if thats how its spelled, sry).

  • @MB33MB33 hense the stretching. lol

  • Hi...We are in So. California. About 2,500 feet elevation....Quite arid and hilly. Very rural with acreage of 2.5 or more, but we only have one acre. BTW...We also see a mountain lion once in awhile...I also have another coyote clip taken at our sons house in broad daylight...Handsome specimen... ~~ Karen

  • Please send me a message if you do get anymore on tape. Also, I"m curious to know what state you live in&how many acres you have.Recently, I have fallen head over heels in love with coyotes.Watch the video,Coyote Caught in a Snare Trap(one is trapped & doesn"t even growl when a human approaches.)

  • What adorable big ears he had.He seemed to be barking to see if he got a reply & when he didn"t he thought he was safe in his territory so he went to sleep.Sweet dreams, precious, coyote.

  • Thank-you so much for not shooting it,&thank-you for sharing what you observed.

  • Thanks for stopping by. We have probably upwards to 11 coyotes that inhabit our area. This morning while we were enjoying our morning coffee on our deck we saw 8 meander down the hiking trail. Wish I had my video camera handy to get them on tape. ~~ Karen
