Duke & the All*Star Frogs were regulars at the Church Key in Madison, WI back in the late 1970s. That group had a blues harmonica player that was fabulous. The band was five excellent musicians including drummer Gary Brewer mentioned in anothe post. Between Duke's entertaining and welcoming presence on stage and the outstanding playing/singing of all, they were not to be missed. I saw them say 8 times during 1977-79. I still have the Red Pepper Hot LP in my collection.

I just read about Duke in reference to a Des Moines blues bar closing where he's been a regular. I didn't even know he was still performing. I loved to go to Gabe's in the late 1970s to get wild while listening and dancing to the music he made with the All Star Frogs.

Brings back memories of Rick's American Cafe in Ann Arbor in the mid 80s. No wonder I got very little done in college.

sounds like 'messin with the kid'. Not sure the orig writer/performer but the blues brothers did it.

Such joy. Used to enjoy his playing every week in Champaign, Illinois, one semester, back in the 70's.
