Scientist recently found whales may be AS SMART as humans but the fact that they have evolved flippers and the need for underwater survival does not let them build the amazing structures people have! They are all unique and beautiful! Whale killing has to stop!
iceland and japan are the only ones commercialy hunting this whale. Iceland more so. It's endangered, so supposedly internationally protected. it's also hunted for subsistence reasons by some, in small ammounts.
People need to be educated on how they can help stop the killing of whales! Alot of people probably don't know how they can help! I'm sure more people will help if they knew how. Thank you for posting this video! Hopefully it will raise more awareness!
if you where just walking down a steert then all the sudden a harpoon shot right into you back and was in pain and they wait for you for hours just to die and drag you up and start to cut up every prat of your body and thoun on a dinner tabla... coz thats what happens to those whles they have there own life and care about there bybes just as we do too

I really hope the recent outrage towards Japan over whale killing has open their eyes to the thoughts of other people around the world. There is NO good reason the kill whales, and I hope they got the message.
Whale oil is still profitable, and whale meat has been a delicacy in Japan for over a thousand years. It is a barbaric practice, but it is not random and inexplicable slaughter.
As well as being the second largest and (in my opinion) the most beautiful of the great whales, fin whales are also the fastest, regularly surpassing 40mph.
I canot believe that both Iceland and Japan kill these amazing animals...Iceland killed fin whales in 2006 and now they want to ship the meat off to Japan

I paddle with whales al the time, normally hump back but often fin, blue and sae whales.
How many are there, how many are being harvested, by whom, for what purpose?

Did you notice the dolphins appearing from time to time? They look small next to the 80 foot fin whale.
