  • good video.like the songs.got the 45 of this too(found it in 1981).roy had a good voice.it's hard to believe it's been almost 23 years since his passing.i'm glad he left us a lot of great songs, especially these songs.also nice jukebox.thanks for putting this video up.keep putting great videos up.

  • what tool do you use to determine the 3 grams you're tracking? I recently purchased a 201 and the tonearm springs were way out of adjustment. I lightened them up just enough that the original redhead tracks well with minimal pressure. They were almost maxed out to have the most tension before I adjusted them.

  • great video.....is that the very expensive 2 pin cartridge? or have you managed to fix on a 4 pin stereo wired for mono? and if this is the case, how did you do it? i have given up with the redhead cartridge, as replacement styli are rubbish!.....

  • @sparkey1958 This is the standard stereo 4 pin, but it does have the rare 2 pin stereo adaptor, which was made by Seeburg for upgrading to the stereo cartrdige, & I've only seen one adaptor like this on ebay. There was a std 4 pin cartridge with stylus on ebay a few days ago, & it went for less than 40.00 . The 2 pin I've seen go close to 300.00. It might pay to change the tonearm to a stereo model.

  • @maynardcat ..thats the way i am going to go, a later tonearm, i have been discussing this on the seeburg forum...and it does raise a few problems, but gerneral opinion seems to be its well worth the effort.

its a pity someone does not re-manufacture those adapters.....they would sell well!

thanks for posting up the vid and your quick reply.

  • @sparkey1958 The large round top weight at 2:06 is a counter weight I added for good anti-skating, as the Pickering Stereo doesn't weight as much and caused balance problems. The new red head stylus may be bad, but is superior to the old originals. They were just like two ice picks sticking straight out of the cartridge. I never could understand whey Seeburg would have accepted such a poorly designed stylus as in the old red head mono cartridge. The earlier black cartridge was better

  • Cool video! I recently bought a V-200, and maybe you can help me. I added about 8 grams of weight to the top of the tonearm to balance it (it has the Pickering 345-03D cartridge). However, it's still not balanced back to front; the balance "wheel" at the bottom does nothing. I need more bias toward the end of the record; it skips backward at the end and won't trip the record changer. Is it possible for the balance wheel to come off its track? Do I need to remove the arm? Is this a tricky job?

  • Good tunes, the only thing is jukeboxes wearout records due to the needle kinds used and the tonearm weight against the records, and the same songs played again and again. I have some record disk worn out from jukeboxes i was given, its is great to have one to look at. Thx for a great video.

  • Hi teendude16 That can be on some jukeboxes, but not on this. What you are looking at here is a Pickering diamond stereo cartridge tracking at only 3 grams and perfectly balanced. The ant-skating device is the silver domed top piece to the left of the tonearm . There is no record wear on this Seeburg changer it tracks as well as quality turntables, as well as the Wurlitzer 1900, & 2000. My 1800 is still hard on records but I plan to upgrade the cartridge and tonearm on it eventually.

  • @maynardcat Jukeboxes are awesome, I like the old ones too, but any up grades are great, collectable record disks are still better kept, and re-issues are better used to protect the history. I was told this by a pro, I guess they just wanted to help me save my collection. Thx.

  • HI teendude16. Re-issued 45's are due in part to the popularity of restored jukeboxes. The re-issued 45s even come with title strips for the jukebox. I enjoy playing the jukeboxes and wanted quality tracking cartridges and good sound. The original mono red head cartridge that was in this model jukebox was very damaging to records The tonearm was carefully re-adjusted to track lightly and properly with the new light tracking cartridge with much improved sound an no record wear.

  • @maynardcat I hope others read this and do the same, or it can get expensive to keep replacing record disks due to not knowing, I glad you know, now they last for years. Thx.

  • the sound is tip top is the amp valve powered standard type nice juke?.

  • It is the valve type with 6L6 output tubes, 5U4 rectifier and has a magnetic cartridge

  • Interesting. Clockwise rotation on the 1st tune on one side of the tone arm; then at 3:30, switches to side two, counter-clockwise on 2nd needle on the other side of the tone arm. It looks like the first song should sound backwards! So, where do I buy one-?

  • Very good

    Thanks I love the record.

    Richard
