pengarah filem ni anwardi jamil..apa anwardi kata dlm blog dia pasal filem ni: When I did Tuah with Jamal Abdillah (who wouldn't really know what silat is even if it slaps him in the face), I needed a good silat choreographer. Luckily, I found one - Pak Engku, who had also choreographed the silat scenes in Rahim Razali's Matinya Seorang Patriot.

Pak Engku was great. He knew what I wanted and he helped make Jamal look good on camera.

halo may i interupt...above all silat have other fact which the student in the highers belt will learn the inner streght we call it BATIN its like some vodoo things that need the pupils goes in cave and other place that creep people. There u will get many dificulty in spritual world as we know we all in silat beliave the is another six sense world. Mayb the westerner dont beliave it. but, us ask all east asia they all know this six sense world. and silat pupil pass the highest whn they pass this

n also their takedown techniques also weird n uneasy to understand. whatever old original silat without mixed with outsiders is very different from other martial art n covering from upper, medium n lower fighting position. have unique combination stand n ground fighting.

one of different between silat n kungfu is silat have many complicated lock, choke, groundfighting, stand grappling and ground grappling technique. furthermore all or most of those techniques are very different n unique compared with westeners wrestling, jiujitsu n others. you can type herman suwanda, bambang suwanda, hj sofian nadar, buaya (crocodile), silat harimau, silat jatuh, silat lock flow on you tube to find the differences. but remember! dont copy this and claim as your own styles.

I beg to differ. Kung Fu too has its own repertoire of standing and ground striking and grappling techniques. Both Silat and Kung Fu respectively are already complete if only people practice it diligently and correctly. But yeah, I also hate plaguerism.

I also see some Aikijujutsu and Muay Thai. Its interesting how martial arts from different areas still have some basic similarities.

Get your facts straight. Many styles of Kung Fu has been existed in China more than 500 years ago.

Pardon me, but traditional Kung Fu also has moves or to be exact, forms, that look like dancing as well.

at their true 'core' all martial arts are quite similar. there are only so many ways to hit, kick, strike, twist, or throw someone.

i dont know if u still read this. in silat, the style that are shown are tricks to trap any movement from enemy..look carefully and u will learn something.

this is not for movie only..it is caligraph by a master more than 60 years of experience.

Ok, But that moves really are for advance or expert warrior. I rather make sure the enemy by force dropped his weapon or take it from him. Kriss are usually poisonous, a single slit is deadly..

Silat should be used more in movies.

The few times they do use it, it is always filmed and cut in an amateur way. This clip however looks quite good.... Still the best silat scene I've ever seen with the right camera and cutting is the first 5 minutes of Puteri Gunung Ledang...

The hero is a singer and the other guy is from Silat Tokku Style. I still don't like the way the hero put the blade (kriss) behind him.
