Government never knows how to run a business or produce anything. My brother in law was in Russia for 2 years, during the USSR. He told me a story about a guy who worked in a factory. That made beds. Every day they had a quota of beds they had to make. Whether they needed any or not. They just had to make beds. This of course was totally wasteful. They could have been making other things but they HAD to make beds.
Lets get rid of the unions. Cars are the last thing car makers are making all thanks to the asshole unions .Unions push health care that has become way out of control.Those that have retired can end up making more in retirement than when the employee actually worked.
I am an avid Savage listener, but I do have a problem with what he says at 0:35. So he wants the Gov to force the Union's hand? I know that Unions do make certain things cost more, but I don't the government forcing ANYBODY to make concessions right now. It's a slippery slope is all I'm saying.
Nobody wants to be the ones who tell the Unions that they are driving our manufacturing jobs out of the country, and into the welcoming arms of countries which are beyond the reach of Union demands.
Add to that, the steaming pile of govt. regulations that manufacturers are burdened with...which liberals keep adding to...equals the death of manufacturing jobs in the US.
Obama will not be able to fix this, unless he throws the Unions & the liberals under the bus.
nobody seeker wants to tell corporate executives that by their greed, indifference to a greater good, and their stupidity that they have driven themselves over their own cliffs. their desire for more and more benefits and golden parachutes confirms their sorry belief systems. obama can and will fix this if he can reach these executives with the call for greater sacrifice for a greater good

Beck does make some good points on his new Fox News program, but I'll admit, at times, he can be very over-dramatic, and that's gets annoying. His constant blubbering on TV makes me laugh pretty much all the time, it looks so staged.

Interesting that european leaders are cautioning Obama against going too far down the socialist road. It won't make a difference though as Obama's primary goal is to redistribute wealth from the top 1/3 to the bottom 1/3 in the form of a spate of massive new entitlement prograrms.
IMO this will create a larger safety net for our least effective workers/citizens, but will result in permanantly slower GDP growth and higher unemployment.
The dems rushed to bailout AIG, which insures the retirement funds for congress & the senate. The car companies are part of a dying industry in the US. We have lost thousands of manufacturing companies and jobs. I can understand saving the car companies but at the same time, I can't condone goverment meddling in private business. If we say yes to one, the lines will never end. Thats socialism! We are NOT socialists!
