Maybe the guy died in ww2 and left no clue as to where he'd left his car... Or maybe he was on the run from the law... Or maybe the car was haunted and he was trying to get rid of it.
Rumor has it.... in the south west of Western Australia, a farmer bought 2 Model T's..... back in the day..... apparently he drove one around for years but his tractor was a better ride over our rough terrain, so it never clocked up a lot of miles. As time went by better handling vehicles came on the market, so he bought one of those, then passed away not long after....
Urban myth or not i'm not sure, but i've heard the low mileage T is parked in a shed next to it's ' still in the crate' sister!
@proffesorcaresser Reminds me of when we were coming across the Nullarbor in about 1971 - we stopped (I think at Eucla) and the servo guy says to me and my brother - hey, go look back there at the old cars - it looked like a vintage car park - maybe 30 cars none newer than late 40's - all looked in good, rustfree condition but most had blown engines or gearboxes and had been abandoned as too expensive to fix - I've often wondered what happened to them..
The car is a 1923, 1924, or 1925 Model T Ford Touring. It is not newer than 1925 nor older than 1923. It will not have an odometer because these cars were not offered with speedometers after 1913. The VIN of the car would be the engine serial number. A Model T Ford is the easiest antique car to restore. Over 15 million Model T's were made and parts are plentiful. A car in this condition, believe it or not, is worth about $2,500.
That's a garage, not a barn. I just found a 1918 Dodge Touring car, mostly complete, some restoration done, with a rebuilt motor. And it WAS in a barn. There was also a 1924 Dodge Touring car out in the field, which led me to the find. I bought them both.
I reckon he found the ultimate barn find...it was the barn.He lost it years ago in a poker game. Now if he can get some turkey to take away all those old Shelby Cobra's in the back,he's got himself a good old barn for a good 'ole boy!!!!!!!
Totally rusted out , not worth it bro. When I hungout at this college up in vermont, this old woman landlord has a barn just full of old model T parts just overstuffed with them. Wonder if they still are there....
Whatever the case may be as to how this person got this old car the Statutes of limitations allow the current residents to sell the car to recover Storage Fees. In nearly any State 45 to 90 days And its yours. Also Maybe they Didn't come Back was because it was a getaway car for Bonnie and Clyde or some other such Person's from the Glory days of old. That Car may have a real story to tell.
People are so strange, they'll "collect" cars but in reality they're hoarding (this really isn't the case with this one, just some people who need to let it go, THEY'RE NOT COMING BACK" Collecting is fine, but some people hoard cars and stuff and will not let them go for anything, they could be a rusting away in the back yard and some guy will come along and offer them a ton of money for it with the intention of restoring it, but they won't sell. They'd rather see it rot away then get rid of it.
Do we have to look at your face when you talking can you point the cam at the front glass so we can look at the roud see where we going anyway nevermind. And I think I found the ultimate barn find. I found in up states NY a 1984 Chrysler minivan Plymouth voyager with only 24k on it. no rust no where. The 1984 are the finding fathers of minivans. Nice story, I wish the owner came back see if they would give up the car. hehe
@frequency dude You not thinking right. 1984 Chrysler minivan come on they are going to become classic watch and see. Almost all my friends in school making fun of me too but I don't care im keeping it. Im going to sale it on that Barrett-Jackson show on the speed channel for $150.000. By the time im 20yrd ill be rich.
@masterlee123 normally i would tell you not to be influenced by friends and do what you are passionate about. in this case, i wouldnt. please listen to them , theyre saying it for a very good reason. the only classic an 84 dodge minivan will become is classic garbage. these are vehicles we are very happy to have obsolete. theyre absolutely shit, total, utter junk. if your gona spend $ on anything, do yourself a favor and get a real classic dude...(58 fury, 57 bel air, 63 impala, 70 charger etc.)
Oh man this. That is exactly what happened to an old 69 camaro z/28. Guy took it to a shop to get painted and never returned for it. 15 years went by and he never sold the car afriad the owner would return. Her frame unfortunatly cracked and our town made him scrap it. It was a shame.
she looks rough, but would make a nice resto project. the top looks like the vynol is gone, suface rust all over. idk what condition the wooden spoke wheels are, you have to know a wheelwright to get them repaired. then engines arnt that bad, they are the older version of the one in my model a.
