  • Is this the same as when I'm using Novation Launchpad?

  • Hey how do I go out and then meet you for a lesson

  • Amazing video, very helpful and just what I was looking for. Nice one mate :-)

    P.S. Love the track

  • I'm playing a live set and also using an apc 40.. How do I go about opening up and playing different songs all in one project?

  • @edrinamartinez keep it all in one project, just as this video shows.

  • group your tracks man, keeps it all organized

  • this is just the normal functionality of both Live's Session View and the APC 40

  • Wow, great video. Best one I've found so far demoing the apc40. Love the track too. Keep up the great work man!

  • I use the same exact skin! Matched my Alpha Juno 2 and NanoKontrol. Good set up in this video too.

  • Where did you get the first drum track (1st channel beat)? It sounds identical to one of the baseline elements from LSG's In Too Deep (Medway remix) - a song I love but was unable to get on vinyl back in the day. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

  • God I want this technology :)

  • Excellent job on that demotrack man, I was really feeling that.

  • Is your home on a runway?

  • Chillouttttt, nice

  • Hey SeanMontie this was a really cool video. I'm just starting out with Ableton Live and this really helped me understand how the live aspect works.

Thanks for the video and keep it up!

  • @warchild1976 adjust buffer size 256 works for me.. and the most important that helped me was.. going to prefrences then click on cpu and then make sure multicoremultiproccesor support is set to OFF ! ... and plug-in buffer size to As Audio Buffer ... hope it helps ;)

  • let me guess, you live near an airport?

  • Thnx 4 a good video, mate!

  • Hey, how do you use 4 sends? There are only 3 to switch between. Is it possible to control more than 3 sends with the Apc40? How do one switch between more than 3 sends? Thanks In Lak'ech

  • People are just jealous the cant afford macs with high end DAW's, screw it dude I own an APC40, I do my stuff without getting any complaints. Im also a musician with 15 years experience, playing drums , keys and guitar. as long as u love what u do do it, who cares about anybody's comments. get out, get paid, screw everyone!

  • @ElGordoInfernal you dont need to own a mac to make music. you make no sense

  • @ElGordoInfernal

if u need a mac to make music you are stupid and probably homosexual.

  • let me get this straight. to create song you are mixing together various different tracks and tweaking their volume levels and eq to make them sound good together. how is this not djing?

this is definitely not a live performance.

  • @t1mTV I'm not mixing together different tracks but different loops that I've created or sampled. Then I trigger in or trigger out the different loops when I want plus i may add the effects when I want and how much i want. Since I do all this live on stage, I'm performing live. I like to call it "live composition" or "live composing".

Dj'ing typically involves mixing other people's already completed musical works by usually fading one track out into another track and so on.

  • @0riginalistic just because you are triggering loops instead of whole tracks does not mean you are performing live.

  • @t1mTV YOU can improvise. if you can improvise than you're performing live... When a band play someone else tunes, they are not do any live creation... and even if YOU have created the piece, you rarely improvising and you play the piece after a lot of practice (ok, some do improvise like in Jazz or blues).... so in fact, Ableton live + the APC40 give you the freedom to improvise, adapt, create something in a specific place and time and it'll be different every time.

  • @azenkwed look dude, you're wrong. accept it and move on.

  • @t1mTV what's wrong ? you ran out of BS ? I thought you'd be more "creative". You give up then... take care.

  • @azenkwed you lose.

  • @azenkwed

do you know that jazz and blues are the dumbest music you could ever play, well actually its rap but above rap its jazz and blues.

When playing its like masturbating, you only need to abuse one scale, everything will sound as if it fits.

I find creating and playing an ableton live set A LOT more creative.

  • @chutzpah8 Nevermind dude. You've missed the point I's trying to make. My post wasn't about jazz or blues or rap...

  • @azenkwed

nevermind, i have just used your momentum to make another point.

  • @chutzpah8 I don't know what your musical background is, so I'm not gonna scream at you, but it seems that you don't really have a solid understanding of how jazz works.

  • @t1mTV

this is not a good example of a great live, but it provides a good perspective of what you can achieve.

In order to understand the potential you would need to understand composition.

As a classical music director, you have the power to drive the composition to a lot of places. The building process its not static, since you are gathering instant feedback of the music you play.

This is the same thing but with electronic stuff.

  • This is so cool!

  • thanks for the insight man

  • That vocoded male acapella is smooth.

  • pro

  • thank you

  • Nice work

  • nice chill'a'like song :)

  • @doomfaceful opps, hahaha I'm sry for my stupid question :D

  • (is it just me?), or all the ableton demos seem to be one loop, one groove, repeating, with improvised effects, all in the same key. Are there any demos of someone improvising with an actual song? ie with separate intro, verse chorus etc

  • @Andybaby thtat is mix and it's very hard to make a song live think a bit

  • i downloaded the audio from this video SOLELY to sample the loop at the very start. thank you.

  • cool plane sample at 1:45, where can i download it?

  • can i use every ableton live with this controller?

  • lol the airplane in this video was mad buggin sounding like i was in ur room

  • Dammit! i was working on a Dubstep track,.. now i want to make some House

  • @killlagger468 I was doing the exact same thing ;)

  • whats there maximum channel limit, or is there 1? if not is there a way u can load another saved project whilst the current 1 plays? (seporate window thats sinked in or sum shit?)

  • :)

    thanks

  • Thanks for the video...I noticed all your launch leds on your pac stay lit the whole time for your live set....Do you happen to know why mine go out after I lauch a clip or scene?

  • *AN apc 40

  • you are so good. now it makes perfect sense. i thought ableton was just only for recording. great job man.

  • Dude thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Nothing but stupid fucking dubstep tutorials and other peoples terrible compositions. It took me forever to find a video that actually displayed how to use Ableton for LIVE work.

  • @SicFloBeatz dude..thats what i was thinking and its never propper dubstep it some kid that thinks he's skrillxxxxxxxxxx

  • Nice color on your appearance, which one is that?

  • akaiapc40 com

  • I LIKE THE SKIN, WHERE I GET IT?

  • @arturommk I made a tutorial showing how i made and how to install it, plus there is a link where you can download the skin if you want it or use the app to make your own skin.
