@stekks If I'm not mistaken, Joe told Greg not to bother bringing an amp with him, that he would set one up for him at the show. Greg normally plays through a Fender amp.
@ThLuckyOne You're very welcome TheLuckyOne. Both Joe and Greg are much more than some of the best guitarists walking the planet, they are both really great guys! :) Roy
He is great...I met Greg at a Fender clinic back in 2001 on Long Island.I had never heard of him and salesman at music store said "stick around, this guy's scary good"...Enjoy it people...Guitars are becoming an endangered spieces and players of this caliber aren't in the numbers they used to be...:o(
I have never seen anyone make a telecaster sound quite like Greg does. What a joy to hear him play. 2 of my favorite guitarists today, Greg and Joe B. followed by Warren Haynes.
It's so weird to see this already on YT. I spoke to Greg hours before this show when he was driving up to go do it.... wow, people move FAASSTT! ** AND yes, Greg truly is one of the best damn guitar players we've seen or ever will. **
@McConOWah I uploaded this first, because I know Greg a little and figured he'd like to see it. In addition, we both live in southeastern Wisconsin and us "Wisconsin Boys" have got to stick together. ;) I totally agree with you, Greg is one of finest guitarists in the world today and also, one of the nicest and funniest guys around! :)
@Blues71 That's pretty cool man; i didn't mean a negative tone, I was just surprised to see it so quick that's all. (You know how YT can be.) Thank you for such a high quality video, rock!!!
@McConOWah No problem at all, I didn't take it negatively. :) I take a lot of video, specifically in the Blues/Rock genre of music. Take a look around and you might find something you like. Working on some videos of Joanne Shaw Taylor whom I saw this past Saturday night in Wausau. Man, can she play guitar!!
@timothywebber Actually, Tallan and his Mom and Dad are personal friends of mine and joined us for dinner before the show. I know Joe too and Joe included the three of them on his guest list for the show itself. Then after the show, we waited by the bus and Joe signed a picture for Tallan of when he invited Tallan up to play with his band two years ago at Turner Hall. That really capped off the night and yes, it was a really fabulous show!.....Roy
@stevehymer you are right - NOBODY (maybe johnny hiland) has the mind boggling chops of the mighty (I've seen 'im live) and (very tall...) Greg Koch. He IS pretty damned good. BUT!!!! Who could ya HEAR better. JB knows a few thngs, too. I was watching him at NAMM like '09 I think standing next to groove MASTER and badass gtr. plyr. NilsLofgren. Nils was playing it cool, but I could TELL he was impressed, if not intimidated. No Nils I, but I was intimidated-the cat can PLAY GW
I can hear Joe Bonamassa's guitar, but the other guy didn't record so hot.Joe B. has got the "Clapton" sound down,to use an old vernacular.

Greg has some balls to play next to Joe's 4 100W amp setup with just a 'tiny' Marshall 18W combo!! ;)

@Blues71 Yeah, it's strange the see Greg without a Fender amp. I'm glad Joe didn't set him up with a Class 5 then ;) Anyway Greg is a monster player!
