Brilliant video. Look into Alan Dawson or that line of drumming, I believe Tony was a student of Mr. Dawson. Also you can look into Gary chaffees teachings of metric modulation and modulating time. I'm not really an expert on it but do work with his books and recommend them. "Patterns" and etc

Tony was brilliant. This is a fantastic example of his compositional knowledge in action. Themes, extensions, rhythmic modulations, diminution, dynamics - all so musical and expressive. I thought the prelude he improvised on the Live in New York video was good - wow, this is something. Thanks for posting all of this great stuff!
