  • WTF...

  • oh america, you so dumb.

  • I couldn't keep a straight face. This is hilarious.

  • wow, this is disturbing, and this is what they call christian porochial?!

  • Nothing that man can devise will ever stand up to the Word of God. His laws are just, and perfect. And more than that, His laws were made for our good! But St. Paul warned us of this very thing:

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (3) For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (4) They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

  • I'm all about teaching college kids about safer sex practices and such, but the ending stuff was over the top.I remembered *HATING* freshman orientation for similar issues, though most of ours focused on drinking.

  • If these kids had been properly molested in church they would understand that sex is a filthy abomination!

  • Higher education?

  • How barbaric! Making a mockery of something so sacred to children only 18 years of age. What are we - beasts?

    Sexually responsible? Christ, have mercy!

  • (continued from below)

    6. Read Theology of the Body. You will find I am no prude. I just have a healthy view of sexuality that doesn't involve using people for my own personal pleasure--not even mutual using, but mutual self-giving in its entirety. And, yes, sex is enjoyable! Seriously, Theology of the Body is worth the read. You could read the beginners version.

  • I wish my university had been this cool.

  • Great job! Way to open the door for conversation. By talking openly & creating humor surrounding controversial topics like sex, sexuality, the use of alcohol, etc these students are breaking down barriers & creating approachability. Students who have questions about lifestyle choices can come to these student groups for help. Have we forgotten about social trust, the common good, opening the doors to spread the good news? Got a problem? Join the student group, utilize the opportunity to share.

  • @GalapagosPete well said. Dinosaurs like Miriam and livelikeit are on their way out. It is so obvious that who you sleep with and what you do with them - as long as it is consensual and not abusive is not a "moral" issue at all. Their comments look completely out of place.

  • You know, I really support this kind of thing. My only point is... Sex-ed for college students? Really america? I find it rather sad that you need to tell this to 18+ year olds, who really should know all of this already.

  • I'm a Gustie & I ♥ the PA's!!!

  • @livelikeit If you would only stand by and watch, it would be perfectly fine. Alas, you are not.

You prudes are the people campaigning for intolerance and discrimination against gays, causing suffering and pain. You prudes are contributing to the spread of STDs and to unwanted pregnancies by withholding information about safe sex from everyone. You prudes are trying to curtail a woman's freedom over her own body.

If you only just stood by. But you don't. You are making the world a worse place.

  • @livelikeit you poor deluded dimwit. You have my pity.

  • @livelikeit - Exactly!! Contraception = submission to and being overrun by Islam!!

How could we have failed to realize that before now? Thank you so much for telling us...

...you lame, pathetic, useless, moronic, sociopathic idiot.

"We will continue to practice sexuality in its healthy form..."

Lights out, eyes closed, only for making babies, hating every minute of this disgusting practice. Strange idea of "healthy", you worthless piece of filth.

  • @GalapagosPete and others: How about instead of name calling, you educate yourself? 1. Search the CDC website for condom effectiveness 2. Google images of abortion and read an embryological text book to see that abortion is more than just about "choice" 3. Google European fertility rates, and view their downward trends over time 4 Search for the yearly changes in Islamic population in the European country of your choice 5. Read the news to see watch the decline of your culture happen as we speak

  • @livelikeit - But there is good news: people like you are dying off. Not quickly enough, but you are dying. Enlightenment is gaining ground, psychopaths like you slipping away. Oh, you make noise, but those are the death throes, nothing more.

Eventually there will only be a tiny lunatic fringe of you remaining, and we can drop you on some small island somewhere - or I should say, islands: one for the males, one for the females, and you'll finally go extinct.

    Now *there's* a happy thought.

  • @livelikeit In fact, sexual diseases are rampant in the backward southern 'bible belt' states of america. Foetuses under about 20 weeks are just a binch of cells - not human beings. So stop getting your knickers in a twist about nothing.

  • Well, we "prudes" will just have to stand and watch as you guys scratch your itchy genitals while you wait in the waiting rooms for your warts to get burned off. We'll watch as you go to "clinics" to kill your newly conceived children. We will watch as you "enlightened" contracepting Europeans are overrun by Islam as you commit demographic suicide. We will continue to practice sexuality in its healthy form, as it was intended, open to life, free of disease and heartache. Hope you enjoy burkas!

  • College students. You know, legal adults?

For goodness sake, people, are you really that freaked out about "indoctrination" at that age? How sheltered and fragile do you have to be to have this ruin your innocent little mind?

Nice job with those tags, by the way. Some of those are the organizations most fervently dedicated to imposing their minority views on sexuality and redefining families for everyone else. Their propaganda makes gay rights groups look like naive amateurs by comparison.

  • FURRIES!

  • "Marriage is the Biblical metaphor used to describe the relationship between Christ and the Church."

    Interesting - who's the top ?

  • I saw Avenue Q this past week...and that teaches more about gay and sex than this video even comes close to.

Which is worse in showing a child? That's hard choice....I'd actually show my child Avenue Q. Seems like they actually put effort into being funny and don't hide behind "morals" to show their musical.

Then again Avenue Q is out to preach and convert like this school is.

  • If your parents didn't teach you about sex. Your parents were idiots. If you have to learn about sex from school, you're less informed than those that had good parents.

  • @TonkaJay So if your parents didn't teach you about sex school shouldn't pick up the slack for you? That's an uncaring attitude there mate.

  • @DanDare2050 You want the school to be a parent?

    Pay them more.

  • @TonkaJay You are focussed on the parents and their responsibilities. How about you think about a child with dickhead parents and how to help the child? Schools take up that slack to help those children, not to be parents, or to let the parents off the hook.

  • @DanDare2050 you'd blame the school if the child was not educated in private matters instead if the parent? Yeah that shows your education. Unless you have sex in public to be criticize, sex should be discussed by the parents. If they do not do it, the these high and mighty know it all groups about sex can spend their money and time educating them.

  • @TonkaJay your reading comprehension is very poor. I did not say I would blame schools for anything. I said that schools helping students to learn about these things is helpful to the students whose parents have not been so helpful.

  • @DanDare2050 you don't have to say it. If schools do not do as you want and pick up the slack you would blame them. This is not teaching anyone. It is so horrible it's funny. It's like watching a train wreck if clowns. If you learn anything from this you don't know what good education is. This video only appease those that think the same and helps no. Therefore it is a total waste, unless entertainment is the goal more than learning. Even if that were true they did a bad job.

  • @TonkaJay don't put words in my mouth, impugn my motives or tell me how I will behave. You have no evidence this is true and it is bad argumentation.

Your own arguments about education are incoherent.

  • @DanDare2050 Worse drivers...teenagers. Least experienced know it Alls? Teenagers. Hates what different than the high school norm? Teenagers. Enjoys pop music with sex, drugs and lack of respect? Teenagers. Defies rules and authority like It's an Olympic sport? Teenagers. Thinking a class would teach teens respect for sex or bestow knowledge other than cheap laughs? Stupid.

  • @TonkaJay You obviously have no respect for teenagers. By your reasoning sending them to school at all is a waste of time. With respect I disagree.

  • @DanDare2050 That's as wise as stating you think all teenagers are respectful and straight A students. Naive to suggest this play helps anyone other than make them laugh at it.

  • @TonkaJay You are focussed on the parents and their responsibilities. How about you think about a child with dickhead parents and how to help the child? Schools take up that slack to help those children, not to be parents, or to let the parents off the hook. And yes, they should be paid much more.

  • You all can keep whining about "persecution" as long as you like, but your incredible ignorance is beginning to become a PR problem for you. Sexual responsibility is a GOOD thing.

Why is it always the really religious people that think knowledge is a BAD thing? It reflects more on you than anything.

  • I'm amused (and horrified) that in this era there are people (presumably including the "inflitrating" camera-toting student, ) who expect other grown people to be upset by 18-y.o.s, old enough to vote and drive and buy guns and go to war, living on their own, being told some PG-13 naughty rhymes and scenes from an after-school special- in an effort to improve their acceptance of each other, satisfaction with life, and health and wellness, no less.. Spare the indignation, it makes you look silly.

  • I just think this is incredibly awkward. Like, this would make me feel really awkward at a regular university, much less a theist-based one.

That being said, this is way better than abstinence garbage.

  • Yeah, is this supposed to be offensive? As a European who has a liberal view on sex (as long as it's consensual -- go for it!), I find the prudish attitude displayed by some Americans bizarre and unpleasant.

  • @LunchAnderson - Trust me: a lot of Americans find it just as bizarre and unpleasant.

  • Excellent information! Very well done GAC!

  • And we are supposed to be offended by the content of this video? Goddamn prudes!

  • Entertaining and educational. What's not to like?

  • Thumbs up to Lutheran Gustavus Adolphus College (ELCA) for teaching young adults to be sexually responsible.

  • More colleges need to put on orientations with this sort of content. Maybe it would decrease some of the high rates of stds and unplanned pregnancies. Nice work guys.

  • Hilarious, people are calling this smut? Man, I wonder what you prudes would think if you went to school in Europe, a place that isn't repressive of sexuality and mostly devoid of your god fearing nonsense. Kids? Its college, you know, adults.... Wow, thank no God I don't live in America.

  • Great work!

For those who object to this educational content presented in an engaging format: Suck it.

The fact is that kids/young adults who know nothing about sex, and those who have been told not to have sex, still have just as much sex as those who have been educated about it. The only difference is that the ignorant are stupid about it and get themselves and others infected or knocked up.

So take our puritan rage elsewhere, you're doing more harm then good to our youth and society.

  • Great Job Gustavus! Keep it up - this is information that students need! Ignore the small minded comments.

  • (Comment continued from comment below) By experience and experiments that could get them pregnant because they weren't given a single bit of information about how to safely have sex, or that to have sex is your choice, not anyone else's. Which would you prefer?

  • What is everyone's problem with exposing students to sex? Students in COLLEGE, where everyone knows that sex happens, even if they choose not to have sex themselves. And by the way, this isn't a mandatory event. If students decide they don't want to go, they don't have to. GAC realized that college is the big transition between high school and the real world. If these 17-22 year old students aren't educated about sex now, in a safe, reliable place and manner, then how will they be educated?

  • @cpimswimmer1

"If these 17-22 year old students aren't educated about sex now, in a safe, reliable place and manner, then how will they be educated?"

Honestly, they already should be. I'm not against this presentation in the least. It's a great reminder and it's hilarious, but they should already have known this since about age 12, either from sex ed in high school or from their parents. (Which kinda makes it even more stupid that people are objecting to this.)

  • @KemaTheAtheist - The problem is, the kids that go to religious schools very likely had an upbringing that never included sex ed, either from school or from their parents. A friend of mine went to such a school briefly (he got a one year scholarship) and was astonished at just how ignorant of real life most of those students were. Programs like this are depressingly necessary.

  • @TechBearSeattle

    Fair point.

  • @livelikeit A guy in a suit calling himself captain condom is smut? Well, okay. Please define what you consider as smut.

A girl dressed in pink, making whirring noises and calling herself vicky the vibrator promotes sexual deviancy and vices? How does joking about sex promote deviancy and vices?

And finally: Why does an orientation have to be christian?

  • @livelikeit: some would say that prudishness is a sexual deviance. The fact is that human sexuality is expressed in many different ways because everyone's sexuality is different. Young adults are exploring their sexuality and with less experience can benefit greatly from education about how to reduce risks of STI's and unwanted pregnancies. You will notice that the presentation offers abstinence as one of several options. Also Masturbation is perfectly normal in humans and non-human animals.

  • @livelikeit You don't get my point, do you? People are making fun of sex in front of an adult audience. Why shouldn't they?

Only because you don't talk about vibrators, they don't go away. Only because you don't talk about contraception, extramartial sex won't go away. Whoever is set to live his sexuality "the christian way" will not be turned into a sexmonster by this little display. And for others it's a fun reminder to use protection. Because 85% of non condom users get pregnant each year.

  • @livelikeit - 100% of condom users use use them properly do not get pregnant, you foul nitwit.

Masturbation is only a sexual deviancy to filthy perverts like you. The greatest joy in the lives of vile, loathsome pustules like you is the deaths of women in back alleys. Gives you wood, doesn't it? Not that you know what to do with it when you get it, except to cry like a baby and pray to Jeebus to "make it go away!!"

it's just sad that the parents of people like you didn't drown you at birth.

  • @YOURpervertexposer

It's difficult to hate something that doesn't exist.

If you'd like to live in a theocracy so badly though, you're welcome to GTFO and move to Iran.

  • "It's time to confess; America HATES GOD."

Fair enough too, he's a fucking asshole, and so are his followers.

  • Some need to understand how ELCA affiliated colleges actually function. GAC is not a Christian College, but rather, a College of the Church. Its context is in Christ, but as an institution of higher education, it confronts realities of the world we live in today and seeks reconciliation. This is its attempt to address these issues for new students who are experiencing an important transition into adulthood. Efforts to hinder it are antithetical to the institution of higher education.

  • @gswanson17 "GAC is not a Christian College, but rather, a College of the Church."

And there should be a difference? If the church supports it, it should function under Christian values. But alas, far too many ELCA leaders don't function under Christian values either.

  • Would prefer to see the rest of the presentation before passing judgement on the presentation out of context. What is shown here seems to promote the understanding that there are many different points of view regarding sex, and that there are disease-free, non-pregnancy inducing methods of addressing one's sexuality. The opening segment is cut at the end, leading me to believe there was some sort of fair resolution for the kid who was kicked out of his dorm room.

  • @MarilynBr

"And you think sleeping around is better?"

If it's safe sex, then yes. Sleep with 100 different people while using a condom is safer than sleeping with 1 without one. If you're that dumb to think that abstinence-only "Christian" bullshit works, I suggest you go look at the numbers... every single area where abstinence-only is taught exclusively results in higher STD rates and teen pregnancy.

  • @MarilynBr

"This kind of skit should not be performed in a "Christian college.""

Could you say that again? I can't hear you all the way back there in the 50s.

Seriously, get with the times. You can't indoctrinate kids into narrow-minded ways anymore. They are going to have sex. It's a fact. It's better you teach to be safe about it.

  • @MarilynBr

your disgusting have you no respect for students who these people are trying to prepare for the realistic world they will be living in for the next couple years?

  • @MarilynBr Biblical sexual "morality" is cold, nasty, and plain fucking dumb. By promoting biblical sexual "morality", you're making the world a worse place to live in, especially for homosexuals. But I take pleasure in knowing that biblical sexual "morality" will one day be regarded as a historical curiosity. A sincere "Fuck you, prude" from Europe.

  • @MarilynBr

The bible also calls for the stoning of anyone who so much as picks up sticks on Sunday. Are you for that too? It also calls for the spilling of blood of anyone man who lies with another man. Are you for that too? Or do you conveniently exclude those passages of the bible?

  • Wow. This one isn't even as bad as your latest one called "Freshman Orientation at the Lutheran Gustavus Adolphus College (ELCA)"
