Last in Normandy last summer and saw the graveyards and wondered at the British graveyards why there were so many fake poppy flowers which then my sister could tell me that the poppy is the flower used to remember the fallen soldier in war (atleast in England).
The part with Robbie moving through the field of poppy suddenly had much more meaning / importance.
