Discovered this Friday, used it Saturday in a BYU 4 Stake leadership meeting. Thanks for taking the time to put together such beautiful images and music with Sis. Beck's powerful talk.
I LOVE this talk by Sis. Beck and you have made it more powerful by adding the beautiful pictures and music! Well done! Thank you so much for posting this. I have a lot to work on, but I am a mother who knows and I find great joy in being a mother! Thank you!
This was beautifully done. I love the photos with it. I love being a mother of 4 beautiful children. I am so grateful I can teach them to love the Lord and spend there lives in the service of God. I love to teach them how to find joy in life through creating, serving and loving those around them. I am still learning a lot about being an even better Mom. Especially the "house of order part." Hard with my young children!! :-) Being a mother is hard and wonderful all rolled up into one.
The mormons are not in a competition with the catholics. We do not study them and try to be better than them. If you listened to what was said it is telling mothers to use their time wisely studying catholic women so we could compete with them is the biggest waste of time. Also being a mother is not a competition.
Thank you for putting this video together!! I converted to the church as a teenager, and as my husband and I get ready to welcome our first son into the world it is talks like this that help me to realize that although I will make mistakes, teaching my children truth and righteousness will make me a wonderful Mother, and Heavenly Father will bless me and help me to teach my children and to help them to grow!!
This video is beautiful! Your wife must be such a blessing to your family!!
This video is a collection of clips from a larger talk. Please note that the title, Mothers Who Know, refers to mothers who know Christ (not just know about Christ). Outlined is a list of attributes and descriptions of what mothers who know Christ do, or will do, particularly in a world where such things aren't popular.
Mothers who know live Christ-like lives because they know Christ. They show their family by loving example how to be disciples of Christ.
It's interesting how in a talk that is supposedly about a relationship with Jesus, He was mentioned by name only twice - once, referring to the "gospel of Jesus Christ" and then in the benediction. I did, however hear the words 'power' & 'influence' 7 and 8 times respectively. You may want to go back and post the "larger talk" to make it clear what it is we are supposed "to know" before we 'influence' our children down the wrong path.
Your profile shows that you are one of those who would spend their time trying to tear down the Mormon church rather than spend your time serving others and thus the Lord.
Perhaps if you would spend more time in service and less time tearing down, you would come to truly understand the Savior and those who do His work.
But do what you will, the Lord's work and the LDS church and its members will continue on. "The dogs bark but the caravan rolls on."
We're mothers who KNOW! that's why we are not questioning, We KNOW the truth. There was no absense of Christ in the talk. The entire talk is a tribute to Cbhrist and His teachings. It it through His teachings, that we came to KNOW.
Please open your heart to testimony of the Lord in this video and be slower to try to find fault, for there is no fault in righteous mothers OR someone who assembles a great video such as this.
And actually holidays, there are many statements concerning the Lord in this video. I heard them. Open your ears. Listen again. Count the # of times she says "Lord" or "God" or something similar. And rejoice in it.
g0shh they played this at girls camp this year and it hit all the girls because h0w their mothers do all these things for us and how good examples they do and to be thankful for our mothers! girls were crying thank you:)
I love the Spirit that inspired Sister Beck to deliver this message to modern mothers LDS members or not throughout the world. I am truly grateful that the true gospel of Jesus Christ makes women value motherhood and family.
I am glad that that your husband's efforts to remind you how important mothers are spoke to your heart and achieved his desired result. I do want to make a correction, however. Both spouses are not required to give 50%, but 100%. If the mother doesn't have the back up support from the husband or the father is not a good example, statistics show that no matter what the mother does, the kids will likely follow the example of the father in many ways.
If this video was made for this man's wife, then it strikes me that this was made to get her "back on track" from discouragement, depression and exhaustion. Raising good children is huge responsiblity and is needs 50% support , guidance, love and sacrifice from the father as well. This seems to put everything on the mother. We are not bottomless pits of sacrificial selflessness! Especially if we don't have the love inside to give. Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the Church.
I agree that a husband does need to give full support in the family. I am his wife and felt the love that he meant to give. He is my best friend and does more than any other man I have seen. I love him and am thankful for him. I hope you didn't see it as a weak attempt to make me feel good, because he meant it from his heart. We, as spouses, need to strive to work together and love each other as Christ would, just as you said.
this is one of the best church clips I have ever seen...

I love this video, if I ever feel overwhelmed or discouraged I think of the influence and the power we women and mothers have in the family and my heart rejoices!
I am so glad I am a mother...wife (well... almost)... homemaker and women, I wouldn't trade it for any high power job on this earth!
There has been for many years, a lie placed out in the world by Satan, that women need to be 'men' to be powerful and important. This is a LIE! We need to be WOMEN!
We need to be with our children, leading them in righteousness. Teach them of Christ, reach out to those in need, and teach your children to do the same.
You do not need 100K to raise 5 children.
We are doing it on much less. Sacrifice - yes, but worth it, every single day!
im a mother of 4 children and have been a stay at home mother since i had my first child, it has always been a hard sacrifice with just the one income, but i know that without any doubt that my role is at home , its been the best decision i have made for my family's wellbeing
What about the moms that have to work. In these days it takes a guy making at least 100k a year to support 5 kids, and still will struggle to pay for their kids college which is esentail for survival in the future as well as meeting people as a young adult. I am a 26 year old single mormon guy who only teaches for 50,000 a year.
We've been counseled to live within our means. I believe that in many cases lifestyle changes can eliminate the need for mothers to work. However, under circumstances that require mothers to work, righteous mothers can still be Mothers Who Know—it's just a lot harder to fulfill the sacred responsibilities of motherhood while financially supporting a family at the same time.
I live in a world where I no longer have the right to stay at home, where everything I like to give and create for my home is devalued and I am practically forced into having a job outside. If I do not obey, I am bitterly criticized and considered as worthless. It has become impossible to find a man who loves being a provider. This is something that is causing me a lot of pain.
I liked the video a lot more than I liked Julie Becks original talk.
I disagree that women have the most power at home. They have the most power anywhere they exert it, it is not limited to the home. It was Esther that saved a nation outside of the home.
This is my ALL time favorite talk! I'm pregnant with our first child, a little boy and this talk has inspired to be better! And become a mother who knows for my son! I love this gospel! It's amazing! I can feel the spirit so strong through this video! Thank you, thank you!
I think my comment was deleted by accident - I love this video - it has inspired me and has made me fall in love with Sister Beck's oft misinterpreted talk...please see my post MOM POWER on MormonSoprano dot com.
Thanks so much for this! I was VERY moved by this talk and VERY moved by this visual presentation to Sister Beck's talk. Thanks again. I have shared this with many people I know.
I love it! I'm grateful for this talk...and I'm not even a mom. I especially appreciate because of the dispute against this talk. I appreciate President Julie Beck and know she spoke with the Spirit!
This is very moving. Thank you for taking the time to put this together and share it. I'm positive we would have less broken homes in the next generation if mothers in this generation adopted this philosophy.

Thank you for sharing.
I'm sharing this in my yw lesson tomorrow.
