I still can't understand why Fly went Farseer in game 2 & 3. I mean, he whipped Infi's ass with the Bm in the first game. I know, different map, different tactic, but come on! Bladmaster was so much overpowered at that time. He would've easily dominated Infi in game 2.

Furthermore he obviously knows his English and how to keep up the thrill.
So yeah, I personally would definitely prefer some well known, eloquent pro gamer who clearly knows his shit over some boring, regular commentator who keeps telling the obvious stuff over and over again.
Concerning WC3 the thing is, that 90 % of the people who watch those commentaries regularly have played / still play the game themselves which means that, for quite many of those people it just gets plain boring to listen to somebody who is just stating completely obvious things. At least for me it´s like "Yeah, i know that for myself, nice that you told me, ffs."
So you either rarely watch commentaries or you just don´t know too much bout the game yourself / haven´t played it for a long time, and therefore the basics are still exciting you.
So yeah, me and many others do care if he is a pro, because only those people can provide you with the in depth knowledge which you and me just dont have- making the thing not only entertaining but also interesting. So who the *bip* cares if his English is a little humbly here and there?
There is a reason they invited him. Because in the end a good flow of both, entertainment and information is making the deal. Professional analysis in sports is a great thing - and makes even more sense when it comes to highly complex rts games such as WC3. So you better do your research, before commenting m8.

i think wc is much more complicated than Sc - as we have seen in the game before: one mistake - one lost unit - and you have already lost. In Sc you can manage this disadvantage.
@Ilookatu08 SC2 matches' outcome also depends on micro (especially miscontrol), it's just the fact that in WC3 you don't have a lot to do with macro that makes its micro look much more intensive than SC2's. Other than the abilities and the bigger role of saving units (because they are generally worth four times as much as an sc2 one in food), it's not too different.

@voltototo And in the long run, a few units can also make the difference in SC, especially when it comes to key units of races or workers. In Warcraft 3, though, you can always buy a town portal scroll and just go home if you were caught out of position or if you have any trouble. In SC, you will be slaughtered unless you save your units as you can, with micro control, while refreshing with macro.
Stop comparing Warcraft to Starcraft!!! W3 is very different from SC! SC is much more strategy oriented, WC3 is more about micro. If you can't micro, then you really stand no chance at WC3 melee. WC3 Melee is all about precision and accuracy. SC is more macro strats, and there is a little bit more room for error in SC. Bottom line: BOTH GAMES ROCK!

You can explain it away all you want, but there is no going around the fact that SC came way before W3, and W3 was made specifically with the intention of differentiating itself from SC. Though Blizz incorporated multi-races, its the heroes that define the gameplay of W3 and the builds that are centered around them.

Both games give you the same style of gameplay, the same feeling, the same priorities, the same urgency, the same tasks, with the interesting element of heroes in WC3.

@Carryon871 I didn't describe any similarities. I didn't address it. I pointed out that you did not describe dissimilarities that would make WC3 "very different" from SC, you described minor ones. Their similarities are self-evident, there shouldn't be a need to make a case for them. It's almost like someone arguing that the grass isn't green and I'm to somehow make a counter-argument that doesn't consist of, "Look at the grass..."

@Carryon871 It’s clear that all they did was put SC’s formula in a fantasy setting and add the heroes. It does not make the two games “very different”. WC3 and Company of Heroes are “very different”. SC and Generals are “very different”. Even SC and Dawn of War which are both set in space are infinitely more different than SC and WC3. Look at what is and isn’t there in these two games and in other games.

You clearly have no idea what the hell youre talking about considering Warcraft CAME FIRST. Yes, Warcraft came BEFORE Starcraft in fact it was one of the first RTS's ever made...it defined the genre. You talk as if WC3 "re-used" the SC formula but in reality the Warcraft formula was re used in SC and tweaked. SC is a more polished version of W2. W2 came out in 96 SC 1998.

@Lzinhu This is false. Carryon is right. You can even go to the Wikipedia page and look up the development of Starcraft. There it explains that the Starcraft game would be a departure from the Warcraft formula. You can also google "WC and SC differences" and you will see the same facts that have been talked about here. Heroes are one of the main differences between SC and WC3. There is no going around that :)

@Lzinhu @Lzinhu I think I would take the word of one of the most credible encyclopedias of our age over the misinterpretation of the anni vid by some random youtuber. You can explain it away all you want, but there is no going around the fact that SC came way before W3, and W3 was made specifically with the intention of differentiating itself from SC. Though Blizz incorporated multi-races, its the heroes that define the gameplay of W3 and the builds that are centered around them.

It has been stated time and time again W3 focuses much more on micro management of heroes and units, and the skills that they have. I doubt you have played W3, at least W3 melee enough to understand these differences or else you wouldnt be arguing with me right now by citing the one "anniversery" video.

@Lzinhu In fact that is all the "ammo" you have (even though its a misinterpretation) because there is truly no argument, no dispute, over this fact. You can even go on gamefaqs right now and look up other pros guides that explain the basics of W3. Seriously. They will tell you straight up W3 is a different animal than Starcraft. Yes they are both RTS but the strategy, the micro, the timing, the pattern of play etc are all vastly different from one another. The only similarity is multi-race.

@Carryon871 The SC and WC3 formula is not “the RTS formula”. It’s the SC and WC3 formula and in these two games it was only tweaked slightly. Both games give you the same style of gameplay, the same feeling, the same priorities, the same urgency, the same tasks, with the interesting element of heroes in WC3.

@Carryon871 Blizzard had a simple, good formula in SC and they reused it to great success in WC3 with slight tweaks to give you basically the same type of experience in a fantasy setting and with heroes. I love both games and I’ve played them to pieces, that’s why I’m able to understand how extremely similar the experience is in these two games.

In fact, you can look up statements by the developers who tell you straight up that W3 is a different game than SC. I mean, really? @Lzinhu Actually, I'm terrible at W3 melee. The micro is intense as hell....thats why I may sound arrogant, but I've tried it again and again and its too much. I am all about the custom maps. W3 is one of the few games I play nowadays with the exception of stuff like ME and whatnot.
