Second that. Many many in my country (Estonia) who are quite new member in EU have woken up and seeing what really is the almighty EU. The laws and taxes hurt so much our country and our own industry has been bit by bit destoryed after joining EU.

well i bet to differ with you sammicsno.. has your health benefits changed since 1979? i lived in 3 family apt and lady downstairs came from england been here 18 yrs at that time. her sister had just come over because her daughter who was 5 at the time could not walk. had something wrong with her knee. dragged it behind her.. so they came to usa cause the waiting list in england was years.. she got fixed walks real good now . so if its so good why did this happen

I don't know about this guy's perspective, but from mine, and I lived in England for 17 years, the national health service works. Apart from the psychiatrists who don't know shit, you get to see a doctor anytime you need, you get surgery whenever you need it, and prescriptions are affordable. The health care is not perfect, but it is good, for everyone; not everyone can afford private health care.

@Sammicsno America's founding fathers recognized the right of people to keep their own money. The idea someone is entitled to your money, or to a doctors time and training, is tyranny.

Healthcare does need reform, but government control and more taxes isnt the solution. Government is fucking horrible at running things effectively, but the private industry is.

@Sammicsno I think you're misunderstanding what they are talking about. He's saying that the NHS is just a huge bureaucracy which gets multiple billions spent on it per year, with minimal affect. I've lived here my whole life and can say that, I wouldn't use the NHS for anything more serious than a few stitches. The NHS is a pile of crap IMO. It could be so much better.

Yeah live in Finland and agree that national health care works. In fact, in the 90's the USA and Finland made a comprehensive study on how efficient their health care systems were, and the Finnish one was both cheaper and results better.

Actually the problem here is the private sector. The private sector pays doctors so high salaries they don't go to work to the public sector any more, and hence public sector has to buy services from the private sector.

But as you know, Alex hates socialism.
