  • A good cliff hangin', hair raisin' movie no matter what anyone says

  • The equipment the drivers had to work with in the earlier version as well as the the explosives (bottled TNT suspended in elastic cradles, not sweating dynamite in termite-eaten crates) were of much superior quality. The trucks here seem to be off the scrap heap and in the original the drivers did not have to service them themselves. Surely a wealthy American oil company wouldn't use such trucks and they must have had many mechanics around who could fix them.

  • BEWARE: This is the butchered European edit of the film, which cut out nearly an hour of footage. From IMDB; The European version of the film was re-edited and shortened by CIC, the European distributor, without director William Friedkin's permission. The prologue sequences set in New York, Paris, Vera Cruz and Israel that show what happened to the main characters and why they had to flee to South America, were changed to flashbacks running throughout the film.

  • Sorcerer is the name of the 21nd truck - the one that blew up. Yu can see the name at the bottom of the footwell @ 4:48. But apparently that isnt even the reason for the total - fate apprently is

  • I like the Indian dancing around the truck. He always makes me laugh.

  • take a look at 4:27...is that the reason for the title of the movie?

  • great music !
