Our martial arts never came from them Thais the Thais(Siams) basically stole everything from our culture all they did was use smarts to outbeat us while we had the brawns and fighting skills to fight against them with. Their culture never came into existence until after the 1000's or so.. Look at Lao they don't even have a similiar martial arts as ours and Lao is much older then they are since they are the Ai Lao people who came from Nanchao.

Our martial arts never came from them Thais the Thais(Siams) basically stole everything from our culture all they did was use smarts to outbeat us while we had the brawns and fighting skills to fight against them with. Their culture never came into existence until after the 1000's or so.. Look at Lao they don't even have a similiar martial arts as ours and Lao is much older then they are since they are the Ai Lao people who came from Nanchao.

muay chaiya is from a city call chaiya in southern thailand only that city fight like that. thats why they call it muay chaiya. thailand have alot of muay. muay lanna muay lop buri muay khorat muay pra nakorn. and the sport fight in the ring is present day muay call muay thai. they clean it up made it a sport its not ancient fighting.

remember that khmer descendance from india is only a myth because their influnce on our people became popular during the 1100's. archeological evidence shows that the mon-khmer migrated from tibet and mixed with or took over the malay/cham people of the region.

good on ya,back in the days (long long ago)jks there was only india,our ancient civilization and the kingdom of china after the three main kingdom arise then started sharing religion and arts...actually Indian influenced us earlier then that, 7th century we practice hinduism but after the fall of the Angkor 700 hundred yrs ago we went back to buddhism proof from architectures in the temples

well actually before the khmers there were the mon and also the indonesian empires and another empire on the malay part peninsula. india influenced khmers because the migration route your people took came through india from west asia/eastern europe. As for other aspects of culture that came around from the indo's since your first great king was exiled there and took much from their culture

what the hell are you talking about. indians spreaded their culture to khmers. but not fighting. nearly every country in the world had their own art of fighting. so you can say shit. and even if what you say is true (which is not). then explain why indian martial arts is so dam inferior.

no art is inferior all arts have their weaknessed and streangths, it is to easy to criticise one martial arts weakpoints without looking at your own martial arts weaknesses, please try to be carefull how you word things ok( i dont mean to be rude) it is not the art that is inferior only the application of the art from the student.

Yes, Kun Khmer is great. I used to learn it in Lowell 6 months ago, until my team-mates became a snake head turning against the person who promoted the kun khmer. I hates those fucking idiots. I wish there is another school in Lowell.

just talking about style, how can there be adifferent style if we all have two arms and two legs, just wondering but shouldnt there be a unification of martial arts or an ideal to learn all thats out there for us to learn, cause it is partly (not entirely but still bulk of it) about using your body to its maximum efficency

i gotta say. i'm Khmer but i think this looks stupid. we should be way above this level. i've been studying martial arts films since i was 13 and now i'm 27. tony jaa is better and it sucks that even though we have gifted people in cambodia, it's all about politics. i do kung fu and that ain't kung fu either.

this isnt kick boxing. its modern day style. This is kun khmer and kun khmer is not kick boxing. Kick boxing is more of a modern boxing combine with kick and punch. These are old style fighting. Muay boran I May say. Hey laos has this to my uncle back in vientiane know this. But alittle different.
