This restaurant is a big symbol of success for the Kechara organization with its many departments. It represents Rinpoche's wish to promote vegetarianism plus a income generator for the Ladrang and its many projects along with it is a venue for our many fund raising events.

Actually we should all start at being vegetarian from time to time without taking the vow if we want to really practice the Dharma. In this day and age with such great restaurants like Kechara Oasis, we should begin to abandon meat so we don't contribute to the killing of animals.

I've been there, Nice deco, good serving staff, the environment is very cozy, plus with a big standing tara near the entrance. The food really nice and tasty.....everyone should give a try .....New Age Vegetarian Restaurant.....

im going there tomorrow night for a surprise party, kinda cool to go eat somewhere i saw on television. My friends said i'd love it a good change from my usual meaty, flesh, flesh, diet. how bad ah, how many animals died for me to be able to walk this earth. trot trot hahaha.

Not only is the food delicious, it is also a non-profit restaurant too! Rinpoche's student, Ms Irene Lim, opened the restaurant in order to support her Guru's Dharma work financially. As I understand it, all profits go directly to Kechara organisation.

I was there today and the momos are delicious. And the chef makes a special chili sauce just for these momos that is out of this world! I never knew vegetarian food could be this good! Everyone should go and try it out. Its in Jaya One in PJ .. . in the basement just off the carpark so its a bit tricky to find. But persevere cos its worth it. You're worth it!!!

It's looks really nice! I read that it is the first fine dining vegetarian restaurant in Malaysia??? Very impressive! So now Kechara House has an arts department, publishing department, movies department, lounge in Kathmandu...and a restaurant? 12 departments, incredible! Is there anything Rinpoche's students can't or won't do for him!

THIS IS THE BEST VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT!!!

It was started by Rinpoche's long-time student, Irene Lim who went thru huge obstacles to set up KECHARA OASIS in accordance her Guru's advice. The food is VEGETARIAN, according to the Buddhist principle of not harming others. And, all profits go to Kechara organisation to promote Dharma work.

I agree with you bengkooi, the food there is the BEST vegetarian food i have eaten so far.

I have forgotten that it was a vegetarian Restraunt when me and my friends were dining there cause the food there is very very nice.

I saw many comments on individual blogs that the food there is very nice and worth a try. The setting/ ambience looks very nice. I checked online and saw that they were featured in Time Out Magazine, KLue magazine, The Sun newspaper and many more. It must be a really good restaurant that there were so much coverage on this restaurant.

Anyone gone there yet?? I heard their "Buddha Jump Over The Wall" is the best in town, has to pre-order though. And I heard from my friend that they are the ONLY restaurant that has Tibetan Momo in Kuala Lumpur!
