Chill, dude. These fanarts are from really early on, most likely when people hadn't seen/memorized her design yet and had to guess. This is a demo song, after all, posted in late 2007.
Though it's not like there aren't a million and one variations on their outfits made for songs. Artistic license, y'know?
The reason there's a lot of anime-ish pics is mainly due to a huge advertising campaign. The company producing the voice software behind these songs has acheived a huge amount of interest and excitement over fundamentaly useless software for private (home) consumers. They're cashing in at a huge rate on these "cute little girl" singer images.
This doesn't sound like Rin... Kagamine Rin's a lot more upbeat. This sounds more like LEN. Kagamine Len. I don't like her. But yeah, I think this is Len. Rin's much better.
Sometimes people have him as a guy, some people have him sing like a girl. Sorry. Len's the most questionable of any of them, IMO, he's tweaked so differently EVERY TIME YOU HEAR HIM. At least Miku was consistent. Rin has been too, until I heard this! That's funny though. Her demo's really squeaky. XD

Rin's voice IS a bit stronger and more tomboy-ish if you look at some of her other works.
Take BAKERXOSTER PROJECT's 'Dreaming Leaf' with the vocals by Rin.

The main difference is that her voice is more up beat. Miku's music is more subdued.
