  • thank u so much this helped me alot.it cut my time shorter to clip,

  • Thanks for the great video. We were collating a different way, but gave this technique a try. What a difference. Collating this way is MUCH faster and will make searching for coupons much faster as well. Thanks, Coupon Dad :)

  • Can this method apply to the store inserts as well? the newspaper size store inserts?

  • this really is good advice especially when youre like me and get 20 papers sometimes!

  • You are welcome - glad to be of help!

  • Thanks for the tips....new to Coupon Sense and just finished organizing our coupons!

  • Hello MsSweeTees,

Unfortunately, Coupon Sense is no longer adding new representatives. Members can get help from via email or phone from our Coupon Coach (which was once a rep herself) - or they can ask for help from other members on the message boards.

  • Hi! If anyone have expired coupons, please don't throw it away. We can still use those coupons 6 months past the expiration date. Please send it to PSC 473 BOX 518 FPO AP 96349-0518. Thank you!

  • @n1cl1Ab3ll318 why send it there?

  • thanks this is very helpful.. i am need to couponsense! I would like to become a rep here in texas.

  • R-38 is the Coupon Assignment from Coupon Sense - I use Coupon Sense to help me organize my coupons so I don't have to cut any coupons until I need them.

Here is how the filing system works: Coupon Sense assigns each week of the year a letter. The first Sunday in January is Week A. The second Sunday in January is Week B, the third Sunday in January is Week C and so on.

  • @CouponCrusader If you search You Tube for "Coupon Sense and Coupon Assignments" you can see a video on it

  • @CouponCrusader The hanging file folders labeled A-Z represent the various weeks of the year. So on the first Sunday in January, all of the coupon inserts that come in the Sunday paper are dropped into the hanging file folder marked "A". On the second Sunday in January all of the inserts are dropped into the hanging file folder marked "B" and so forth. This is known as an "Alpha Code".

  • What did the R-38 stand for?

  • Hi, Walgreens is the trickest of the stores to master. This being said you can get some great deals if you are careful and learn the ropes.

    Register Rewards (RR)...

Walgreens has Catalina machines by the registers in their stores. At times, this machine will "spit out" various sales promotions or coupons as a customer checks out. They will also give you Register Rewards (RR’s). Register Rewards are actually Manufacturers coupons. When you redeem them you can use them on any product(s).

  • @CouponCrusader This answer is going to take a few more posts...

    1. Remember you can "roll" your register rewards but you can’t use a register reward earned from purchasing the Colgate toothpaste to buy another tube of Colgate toothpaste and get another register reward! Make sense? However, you can use say the $3 register reward you earned from purchasing the razor toward the purchase of another tube of Colgate Toothpaste and it will give you another register reward!

  • @CouponCrusader

    2. Register rewards are technically manufacturer's coupons so you can’t have more coupons than you have items! Make sense? For instance, if you are buying a tube of Colgate toothpaste and you have a manufacturers coupon + your $3 register reward then you have 2 coupons and 1 item so throw on a .33 caramel at the checkouts or a pack of gum and now you have 2 coupons and 2 items.

  • @CouponCrusader oops #3 did not come through...

    3. The sub total of your sale has to be enough to absorb the amount of the register reward. For instance, if the item you are buying is $2.99 and you try to use a $3 register reward to pay for it the register won't accept it. Again, throw on a .33 caramel at the checkouts or a pack of gum so your subtotal is over $3.

  • @CouponCrusader Final set of things to remember....

    1. RR are Manufacturers coupons.

    2. The expire quickly (less than 2 weeks)

    3. They can’t pay for tax

    4. You can’t use an earned RR from one deal to pay for the same deal and get another RR

    5. You can use a RR earned last week to pay for an item this week even one that is going to earn a RR.

    6. You can use multiple RRs in a transaction as long as your coupons do not exceed the # of items.

  • great video can you please give me tips how to shop at walgreens exclusively because i have no other store close to me and i have a 2 year old girl thanks im currently unemployed so i am interested in getting things at the lowest price possible

  • ty for the great tips here

  • @brynn30 Our Smart Source tends to have more food items percentage wise than the Red Plum does for us here in Arizona, but cleaners, soaps, shampoos and pet food coupons are good too.

  • Hello, I am one grateful person to you for this system, Im wondering if anyone else has seen it. I will be sure to teach my friends this wonderful way of cutting coupons.

Do you have a web site? thanks again. sherry

  • @mrsgroom Thanks Sherry for your kind words!

No website yet, my son is building me one this summer, but it will mostly just hold my class schedule. I am a Coupon Sense instructor in Arizona where we are lucky to have fierce competition among grocery stores for our business. This week all 4 stores (Bashas, Safeway, Frys & Albertsons) have ALL coupons worth $1 and typically most of them always at least double all year long.

  • @CouponCrusader I spend my time sending out 6-10 emails a week to my Coupon Sense subscribers to keep them up-to-date with the latest "finds" - mostly grocery and drug store freebies, but great deals at other stores too as they come along. So unfortunately there is not time to keep up a website. Coupon Sense does have a blog if you goggle Coupon Sense blog, it'll come right up I've had over 5800 hits since I've put this video in May 2009. I'm glad it's helped so many people!

  • @CouponCrusader I live in arizona (Peoria). Will you be my instructor? I will give you 20 bucks.

  • @menkejo

Hi, If you do not already have a Coupon Sense instructor I'd be happy to be yours - and we are FREE with a subscription to Coupon Sense. The first month is $4 to check us out and no contract. It is $15 to stay thereafter which I'm sure you would want to! You can reach me at CouponCrusader the symbol at and then cox.net (I can't put it together - Youtube won't let me post it). If you want more information about CS, let me know If interested we can arrange a phone tutorial.

  • Great job! Love your method! Where do you store them?

  • @4368jkoch Great question! I belong to Coupon Sense in Arizona - they have an alpha numeric numbering system so that you don't have to cut the coupon until you need them. Within seconds I can go right to the coupon I need - I know exactly where to find it in the insert. I file them alphabetically.

  • I tried to post a link to my Picasa website, but You Tube would not let me. I used to keep them in hanging files in my filing cabinet by my computer until I became a Coupon Sense instructor and had to explain the number system to people. It looks complicated, but once it is explained (in 2 minutes) it's simple.

  • @CouponCrusader A lot of people in other regions of the country store them by date so I imagine that you could just file them chronologically in hanging folders the same way. If you want me to send you pictures of how I file mine, you can email me. Apparently You Tube won't even let me put my email in this text, but it is on the last frame of my video.

  • what do you do when you get the same insert that has a different order of coupons, do you know what i mean?

  • @holiobillybob I know what you mean. I get 6 newspapers delivered to my home - all with the exact same inserts, but will occasionally get one in the mail that doesn't quite match.

  • If an individual page matches up exactly, I will staple them together. If not, I will put it in my bin with the appropriate letter (Coupon Sense method). Or if it's something I want to be sure to use, I could always cut it out and put it in my much smaller coupon carrier that I carry into the store.

    Hope that helps

  • You're welcome. Always happy to help people save money!

  • Great tip-Thanks!! :0)

  • @NikiMcCain You're welcome :)

  • great idea! Ihave been cutting them all out!!
