@RuckerCaptain7z Glad you like it! The '73 Javelins are not very different from the '74s. By this time, the muscle car era was dying, and AMC felt that the Javelin had run its course.
Thanks for understanding, Osborn. I'd love to share this stuff, but by shifting the burden of getting the film to the people who profess to want it, I'm really testing their resolve. Some people rise to the occasion, admirably so. Others...well, you learn pretty quickly how serious they are. It's always an interesting and revealing exercise.
Todd, I feel your pain. I've bought about a hundred films over the years on ebay. It's expensive. I've been restoring the film and then transfering to an electronic format. It's quite expensive. Myself, I do it as a hobby not to make a profit. You're request of 20 people at 30 bucks a piece is fair. Most people don't know that it costs a fee per feet of film. 600 is reasonable, but I don't know if it's possible, getting 20. It's like herding cats. lol
this film is inspiring me to get off my rear end and get my Cardin AMX on the road soon! I wish they had a black one in this film......thanks so much for posting!!
It takes a village, DiscoKat. So far, I'm only hearing from one tribesman. Wake up the village. Make them shout so loud that I can't help but hear you all. Then, I'll see what I can do.
Sorry. The whole film is not available right now. If I received enough interest from Javelin fans, I might be convinced to make it available. But so far, you're the only one who has asked, DiskoKat.
@promotodd I'd love to see the entirety of this film. If you still don't have enough of a following, I implore you to at least put up the excerpt detailing the AMX. My dad had a '73 that he loved but gave up for a '77 L-82, 4 speed Corvette. He had a lot of fond memories of the Javelin and I'd like to be able to show this to him.
@MrMaverickkid70 If you want to assemble a group of 20 people who each pay me $30 for the entire 1973 AMC product introduction film on a DVD, I would release it to you. But sadly, unless someone out there seizes this initiative and organizes the whole thing, these excerpts will have to suffice. (I could tell you why, but I would just end up sounding bitter, and that's not me.)
@MrMaverickkid70 The original 16mm film cost me about $100 on eBay over 10 years ago. It took about 2 hours to color correct it in a professional telecine suite at $200/hour. That's $500. Add the cost of DVDs, shipping, DVD authoring, and now you're talking some real money. I don't want to go through all the effort for all 5 of you out there who want the 1973 AMC Product Introduction film. So if you REALLY want it, I'm asking you to undertake the effort to make it financially viable for me.
@GoneAutos I don't mean to sound harsh or evil. I'm not. It's just that I've done projects EXACTLY like this in the past and have felt burned or shortchanged. Conversely, I"ve had uber-fans who have picked up the baton and become the salesmen that I'm asking you to become. They've assembled the orders, the checks, and a mailing list. Then they sent it all to me, and I produced the DVDs and shipped them out. It was a win-win for both of us. Do you want to be that salesman?
Great video! I just received a 74 javelin as a birthday project car and have been trying to learn more about their past. Thanks for the vid!

@DiscoKat I'd love to, but I'm afraid I'd have to charge you more than you'd be willing to pay.

So, how about make it available just for me? As a '73 Javelin owner, I'd LOVE to add this to my collection of AMC media.

@GoneAutos I understand what you're saying. I'm just curious, why would you need $600 to produce the production film?
